1) Tua out for regular season - rehabs til mid-December
2) LSU wins the game in Death Valley
3) LSU crushes Georgia/Florida/Kentucky (whoever) in Atlanta
4) SEC gets 2 teams into the playoffs

True. Very true.

But this way Burrow and the baws get a couple extra months to pull it all together. This LSU offense (good as it is) is about 50% of what it could be by mid-December - (Just my humble opinion)

If Clemson, Note Dame and Ohio State finish undefeated then only 1 SEC school is getting in.

What id really love is for LSU win the SEC and to beat Bama so bad that they won’t be allowed to backdoor into the playoffs again.

I don’t see SEC getting two teams in this year because Notre Dame is out there looming. Big Ten and SEC Champs are in. ACC has to hope Clemson wins. Big 12 Champ most likely gets in and Notre Dame if they keep winning they will not leave them out. So you would need Oklahoma and Texas to lose again. Clemson to lose probably twice and Notre Dame to lose in order for sec to get two teams in.

That’s not including if Oregon runs the table they could be in discussion and also if a lot of upsets happen the committee could decide to let UCF in. I hope not but it is a posssibility.

Not a chance they get in if ND runs the table

In that case, screw Bama. And, Notre Dame in the playoffs? Nice. I love cupcakes.

But keeping it real, the committee will put Bama in ahead of ALL other 1-loss teams.

Defending national champs... healthy Tua... that Saban guy... Neilson ratings, etc. and etc. It's not the way things ought to be - its the way the ARE.

Big 12 is done . The strength of their league is not strong enough to get a 1 loss Big12 team into the playoffs.

Don’t forget...
1(b) - LSU beats MSU
2(b) - LSU beats TAMU

Neither are givens. One game at a time.

Here’s what will happen.

LSU beats Bama without Tua and wins the SEC.

Tua comes back healthy and Bama destroys AU.

The playoff committee puts Bama 11-1 Bama in over 12-1 SEC champ LSU, because they say Bama is the better team with Tua.

That's just mean, Memphis.
Go have your first cup of coffee. Feel better.

So now we have to rely on a guy to be injured to get into the playoffs?

if LSU had a healthy K'Lavon Chaisson and healthy O-Line, things would also be different. Injuries are part of the game. Nobody Galoolied Tua. Its just a fact that he's injured.

If ND wins out there will not be two SEC teams this year. That is assuming tOSU and Clemson go undefeated

Not only LSU fans would blow up. The entire college football world outside of Alabama would have a nuclear melt.

No

I think the idea is that if he is injured when they play us and they lose (whether or not he plays) and he is healthy by the end of the season they'll give them some sort of mulligan.

This is correct. Gumps get in over every 1 loss team. Wouldn’t even doubt a close LSU win head to head and a squeaker in the SECCG game oVER UGA while the midget spends that time off making the rounds whining and lobbying like he did in 2011 the selection committee decides they are the better team since Tua didn’t play and they get picked over us. He made it super clear in the do-over year that there’s really no need to win your conference.

No argument there. I could have phrased that better. We agree on the point.

With West Virginia losing yesterday, it seriously boosts a one loss Bama’s chances.

They will always be the first one loss team in. Regardless of conference championship or even appearance.
