BR is only mediocre compared to NO, for a city this size the food choices are really pretty good, beyond just focusing on seafood. Other cuisines well represented are Indian, Middle Eastern, a lot of sushi choices. On the upper end, I have had meals at French Market Bistro that I have enjoyed as much as any restaurant, as others have mentioned, Louisiana Lagnappe, Roberto's are all excellent. My new favorite is Kalurah St. Grill.
Seafood has Parrain's, Acme, Roux 61, Sammy's, Willie's, take your pick.
I guess just quit bitching, get out and explore, find a new favorite.

Going to recommend Eliza. Amazingly fresh seafood and very delicious. I know from talking with the owner that they get small deliveries almost daily so the product is top quality.

It's pretty hard to not mention Mansur's. They have a wide variety fresh. That would be on the higher end for BR, but if you want fried seafood there are good choices mentioned.
I also second what Kingbob said on BR vs Nola.

Ended up at Parrains. Shrimp and crab au gratin appetizer with toast points for dipping was fiya. I was in the mood for fried so I got the "Whole Shebang "(fried seafood platter) . Wife got stuffed shrimp and the kids got fried catfish. It was all very good and the server Trenton was top notch. Thanks for the recommendation guys .
