I'll add, since we're critquing:
6 for 19 on 3rd down conversions, which is 32%, which is below avg for us (90th coming in) and good for #120.
Yes, the 4th down conversions made up for it, but you have to fail on 3rd to get to 4th. Needs work.
HOWEVER, these are 'real offsets' to that:
a) MOST IMPORTANT: 8 times we got first down on 1st or 2nd down, completely avoiding 3rd down (and vulnerable OL). That's the biggest change in our offense from earlier in the year, and years past. You only do that by being unpredictable.
b) only 3 each 3-outs of 12 series (leaving the end of halfs out). That's pretty damn good.

My only worry is hosting MSU this Saturday. We lost 37-7 last year in the worst loss in program history, margin wise, against the Bulldogs. We had a physical and emotional game yesterday. We have a BYE and BAMA on the horizon. MSU was off yesterday. This is classic letdown material.
If LSU beats MSU Saturday, then I truly feel like we go to the Sugar Bowl at worst with a 10-2 record and play OU/Texas.

Motivation will not be an issue.

However, seven scoring drives is great against UGA. And with the FG kicker we have, we just have to basically reach the 30. That's a big positive. I would like to punch more in though, yes.
Wont be able to do that against Bama............

Man some of you people could shite gold bricks and cum pearl necklaces and will still not be satisfied finding something negative about that. We just beat the number two team in the country with one of the best defenses in the country by 20 points. People forget we have only been running this offense for 3 1/2 months we are still gelling. This is only the second game in a row we had the same O line also. You can tell Joe and receivers are starting to get their timing down. It’s starting to look like the coaches are giving Joe total control of the offense, it looked like on some of the fourth down plays he Made the decision to go for it. Just glancing at Joe’s season stat line it does not really match how great and Delightful it is to watch Joe run the offense. The coaches and Joe has made it fun to watch LSU play again

The number 2 team in the country didn’t even get within striking distance 7 times.

Well it all worked out and worked out good so don’t worry.

At least this year we have a kicker that can kick 5 field goals. Last year was painful
Posted on 10/14/18 at 4:23 pm to CalTiger53
Sure we settled for 6 field goals. Last year we would have made 2 of the five. Any time you get points in the red zone it's a plus. This year when we cross the opponents 40 we are going to score.

Guys this isn't about if O is a good coach, or who we lost to last year or this year, or whether a win is good enough or not, or whether a team should have been ranked where they were when we beat them, instead it is a fact.
We need to finish drive with 6 point scores. In the red zone is where the opponents D steps up and we have to step up more than them.
This is a statistic we need to improve bigly.

Thought we had 3 tds in the RZ

For 2 of those FG we never entered the red zone. I’ll give them a pass on that but that also means we left 12 points on the field.

36 points is 36 points. If I had told you that LSU would score 5 TDs on UGA would you complain about the offense?
Posted on 10/14/18 at 5:09 pm to chasseur4
If we scored 36 points and kicked 5 FGs that means we scored 3 TDs you dumb shite.
