I don’t do patient care anymore but still wear scrubs in my nursing role. If I’m just hitting up a happy hour with friends right after work at a casual restaurant....why can’t I just show up in scrubs?
Especially since I’m already gonna be a little late cause of traffic and how far my work is (Phoenix) from where my friends meet for happy hour(Scottsdale).

Just seems like a silly thing to get so angry over.

My most prized scrubs are from Charity Nola, now retired to Pjs.

That's the basis on which the OT was founded.

Maybe we just got off of work, baw.

Do you always change before you go out for drinks or food after work? What about if you just worked 16 or more hours? I’ll get my beer in my scrubs (as long as they’re clean), and you can get over it.

There are certainly people who make of show of being hospital workers, but most of us are just going somewhere after or before work.

Just passive aggressively shame them from now on.

When you see someone in scrubs in public ask them "are you a doctor?"

When they reply "no, I'm a nurse!" Just say "oh..." And smirk disappointedly as you turn and walk away

Unless you work in the OR, labor and delivery, or burn unit.....there is no locker room for you to change in. Those areas you typically are wearing hospital issued scrubs from the scrub vending machine and you are required to change out of them after your shift and return them to the scrub vending machine. My locker when I was at the bedside was in the middle of a tiny break room and only big enough to lock up my purse, def not big enough for a change of clothes.

Exactly, Nurse. I don’t have a locker at all.

I really don't understand why people have such a problem with this. I've never seen a person in scrubs on a plane or at a social even that isn't dinner/happy hour. I don't change clothes after work to go to happy hour, so why should they?

Do you expect them to change after work to run to the grocery store or run an errand, that's ridiculous.

This is either a time jumper from 1982 or someone who watches too much Greys Anatomy.

It's super annoying at the gym. We get it, bro, you're a stud medical resident.

Are you sure you're not in there just to watch the other men change?
