The whole thing is a sham that all of us are paying for to help the political elite.
I am disappointed in Trump for his decision to expand ethanol.

I am 95% convinced it exists because Iowa is the first stop in the Presidential nomination races.

Can you explain a bit further in detail for someone not familiar with the issue?

High level: Fuel that contains ethanol provides less power and fuel economy while contributing to increased smog. It also destroys motors not designed for it.
The Federal government mandates that gasoline contain a certain percentage of ethanol. Corn farmers in the Midwest benefit.

Do some research. Too obvious.
Total misallocation of resources.
Inferior product.

The Big Small-Engine Repair Lobby is holding us all hostage

I don’t like it, but you gotta take the bad with the good.

Yep. It's one of the reasons I respect Ted Cruz. During the campaign, he told the folks in Iowa he wanted to cut the ethanol boondoggle.

Ted Cruz doesn’t pander. Neither does Rand.

I have said this for years on the board
Most Americans don’t have a clue, so the OP bears repeating.

I agree, but most folks don't get it.

So it's not swampy when Trump does it to pay back favors.. just when other people do it?

You are exactly right.
Trump caters to special interest farmers and union steel mills and the MIC.
There is no denying that

If you can find me a politician who doesn't pander, I will show you someone with absolutely no chance of exerting power and influence.

Better than welfare for solar panels, windmills and electric cars. Not to mention illegals and terrorists.
