They often show other players parents during big games...you gotta imagine he was there for this.

I know his mother died in 2009 but not sure where his father is.

You're probably thinking of his mom. They didn't have the best relationship, she passed about 10 years ago.

His relationship must not be all that great with his father. You never hear or see him at all. I mean the fact I had to look him up just now to see who he was seems strange

It was either last night post game or this morning on DP show. I just remember because I wondered the same thing about him never mentioning his pops
