Baskerville is young and shouldn’t even be playing that much. But he’s going to get better. He got road graded on Auburn’s first TD last month.
Battle is mysteriously a better 1v1 tackler in space than he is in the open field.

What?

He’s better at tackling a guy in front of him solo than he is bringing a guy down against the run of play with help around.

better than the picks and fumbles. Burrow was pretty bad too
What a joke. Burrow played well. The fumble was caused by Magee absolutely whiffing on his block and actually pushing the rusher towards Burrow on his blindside. The interceptions were at the end of the game trying to win with zero protection from the O-line, allowing the DBs to jump the routes.

Baskerville lead the team w/ 11 tackles against Florida.

Baskerville was way over-rated coming out of high school. Package deal. Battle just plain out can't tackle. Seems timid.
what?
He was an Army All American and the highest rated LB in the state
Who was he a package deal with? Cotton? Who hasn't even seen the field this year

The way you said it was confusing, but I know what you mean now.
Battle made some plays, but the ones that he didn’t really stick out to me. Allowing Franks to make some of those throws was utterly frustrating.

Just flying around lowering the shoulder to give a big hit instead of wrapping up and tackling.
this has been an issue for as long as i can remember, ever since saban left, any notion of proper tackling technique, or heaven forbid, spending any time at all practicing it, has been nothing but an afterthought

Please explain this one.

We got beat on the lines. Offense and defense. Both sides missing key players. Definitely have depth issues on DL and need to recruit better players. Too many Olineman & Dlineman underachieving & not progressing.

Battle fricking sucks and people on here have defended him staunchly. I think everyone has seen the light now.

We’ll see if Baskerville develops. Check back in two years. If he doesn’t then you can agree he was over-rated coming out of high school.

Having invisible DE's hurt. It starts upfront.
Divinity made some plays but we got 0 pressure from the interior line. The interior line is where we lost the battle. They couldn’t keep the guards off the LB’s.

outside of his "lines everyone up" ability, I haven't seen Battle defended much on here.
a lotta ppl were looking for Monroe to take his spot this year.
