Fuel system cleaning? Is this necessary?

2016 Tundra with 35k miles. Firestone recommended a fuel system cleaning for $100. Fuel and induction decarbonization. Whatever that is. I didn’t end up doing it, but what is it needed and is $100 a decent price?
I asked my husband but he said to ask the OT this dumb question.

Did they also offer to change your in-cabin air filter for $175?

If you do need a fuel cleaning, go to Napa. B&G fuel cleaner is an awesome product.
But you probably do not need it.

Nope...if you buy decent gasoline, it already has fuel system cleaners in it.
Also, air is mostly nitrogen, so you don’t need to pay them to put nitrogen in your tires either.

35k Miles is too early. Fuel system cleaning makes sense if you have carbon build up but you probably don’t.

No modern vehicle should need any maintenance beyond an air filter and oil changes before 100k

Only thing you need to check for the fuel system is the fuel filter, if you have a serviceable one. So many vehicles don't have them these days but it's amazing the amount of crud they catch.

I have a 2004 vehicle in my my driveway right now that has never ever had a fuel cleaning system and it has run like a tank since 2004.
So, to answer your question, no.

Except for my Honda’s that require transmission fluid changes every 30k miles.

Absolutely

Nah
That recommend that 12k or once a year
Just dump a fuel system cleaner in the gas tank
I’d recommend it however if you were at 80-100k

Any vehicle with an automatic transmission should have the fluid changed every 30k-50k miles, fill-for-life is bullshite as are any fluid service intervals that tell you to wait 100k before first service.

Now THAT is something I do myself in 5 minutes.

If you use name-brand gasoline, you won't ever need it

Theres an entire aisle at Auto Zone with fuel system cleaners that are way cheaper than $100 and work well. The Royal Purple one treats me well enough

Sometimes fuel cleaners screw up more than they help. Be careful

I dump this in the fuel tank every oil change. I might not need it, but I've never had issues with a vehicle using that, a Wix oil filter, and Mobil 1 full synthetic oil.

Just run a tank of fuel with Red Line in it. It's good stuff.
ETA: Over the years, I've found it much better than Royal Purple, B&G, and Lucas.
