Holy shite

"The Medal of Honor represents the worst day of your life."
A hell of a statement that is 100% understandable but a perspective that I had never really considered.

Does anyone posting here have an immediate relationship to a Medal of Honor recipient?

Anyone start watching this show yet? Just finished the 1st episode, seems to be pretty well made and some great stories

Started it last night. Watched Sgt. Sylvester Antolak's episode and then Staff Sgt. Clint Romesha's episode.
While both were good I definitely enjoyed Romeshas episode more.
Having listened to Hershel Woodrow "Woody" Williams speak at a Marine Corps Birthday Ball recently I hope they do an episode on him. Only surviving Marine to have received the Medal of Honor during the Second World War, and is the only surviving Medal of Honor recipient from the Pacific

This one of the best documentaries I have seen in years. The guy that held off the Germans by himself for over 40 hours and he could barely see. One guy laying in the middle of the road literally doing Rambo crap. That is super human shite; unreal . I read somewhere that Seals training they are not allowed to keep them awake more than like 34 hours for fear they could die. This guy was in battle with Germans for over 48 hours with no sleep, no backup in the middle of a road completely exposed. They sent in a tank and the dude killed them all. That is astonishing.

Watched the first 2 last night. Great show. It’s weird though that they have credits and then like 20+ minutes more footage afterwards.

Great show! Wish Netflix would produce more content like this, just wow.
On a side note, Clint Romesha is now an unassuming dude working safety for an oil and gas company up in Minot, ND. If any of you boys are ever up that way...

Damn Cop Keating must've been the worst place in the world at that time.
Two medal of honor winners - episodes.

Yeah man, it still is, I don't think you can find a more rugged, remote, hostile place on the face of the earth. Maybe in the frontier provinces of western Pakistan.
You can look at it on google earth if you type in "Kamdesh" the nearest village. Put it in 3D and spin the map, don't zoom all the way in because the mountains are so damn steep you won't be able to see anything, go like halfway in. It is bloodcurdling to think of being down on the river where these poor bastards were.
Even worse is Wanat (35.0525 70.9075) or just up the river straight north of Nangalam. You could not pick a worse piece of ground to try to defend.

When Roy finally got on the chopper he was holding his guts in his hands.

I've enjoyed the series so far. Any idea if there is a second season? I'd love a Shughart and Gordon chapter as well as Audie Murphy.

I hope that they'll stay away from the notable recipients and keep the focus on people we don't know much about.
I liked learning about people who I didn't know about before.
