There was talk of Obama doing that with Garland, but Mitch kept things rolling in the Senate to prevent a recess appointment.

Mitch could take a little recess and boom Kav is on. After the election we will see if any Senators are picked up for the Rs.

Oh the melt would be spectacular and I verified it is legal.

He’d only be on the bench for two years, no thanks.

No. You need senators on the record.

Nah. The back door crap that Obama started needs to stop. Rules are in place for a reason. They need to be followed and enforced.

Well when one side is not following the rules it really sucks. The left is corrupting the whole process, why not just blow their plans up.

I would prefer that Jeff Flake be found in bed with a dead teenage hooker who died of a heroin overdose.

I thought about this but it’s risky. Could be used as a last resort.

agreed, but if they pull a Flake, then have Mitch recess, then appoint Kav, fire sessions and recess appoint Mark Levin all in the same minute. Then even the GOP cucks would shite themselves

SCOUS already removed an appointment made by Obama when he pulled something like that.

He will not get confirmed. Flake is on the take. Soros and the dems have enough to buy a few republican senators off. It’s worth hundreds of millions to the liberals not get a young conservative pro life white dude on the Supreme Court.

The Senate can subsequently vote to confirm him for a lifetime appointment.

Because we should not pollute the water like Democrats. There are firm rules in place and we should be the ones to follow them.

wrong. nobody is playing by the "rules". That's the problem. Repukes have been blackmailed time after time. Furthermore, recess appointed is stated in the constitution. So as long as it follows the constitutional requirements, it's certainly playing by the rules.

you are wrong as well. Obama's appointment did not follow the constitutional guidelines. The Senate was not officially in recess when Obama did it. McConnell can certainly recess. Dems will try to stop it but will fail legally, tho they will whine and lie.

The melt would be glorious for sure.

But the GOP has something the dems don't have - morals, ethics, and the desire to follow both the spirit and the word of law.

I understand the Dems fight dirty. We don't fight dirty.

The GOP is about to get a significant election bump because the independents are finally seeing the dems for the dirty POS that they are. If we go down the hole with them, we lose that advantage.

Actually the Constitution allows recess appointments.

What President Obama did was to claim that the Senate was in recess during these "pro-forma" sessions, because they weren't doing any real business.

Unfortunately for him and fortunately for the rest of the country, the SCOTUS said no, the Senate is in session when it says it is in session, even if they aren't doing any real business (which, one could argue, is most of the time anyway).
