Trying to start season off. In summit Goliath and looking for a big doe with no fawn. In hardwood bottom with clearcut on one side and pine thicket on other. In between Natchez and Roxie Mississippi

If the fawn is this spring's leave her alone. If it's an adolescent fawn with the doe, let if fly.

Beautiful morning in the woods. Enough chill in the air to harden my nipples and make me want to drink bourbon

Fawns are deer that were born in 2018. No such thing as an adolescent fawn. It's either a fawn or a 1.5 yr old deer.

That's what I meant.

I was referring to the offspring that tend to hang around. If that 1.5 y.o. is a buck, that mama doe will run him off and possibly out of your area.

Hunting a stand in the front this evening since I’m on call for work. It’s hot and still. Beads of sweat dripping from my face hot.

Lock on edge of CRP with a feeder
Camera hasn’t worked since last month. Had a narrow tall 8 & 10 back then.
Bear hand me down bow and muzzy

Let’s see what happens
