Question for those who have utilized the BlockParty tailgate at LSU games

Do you like it and was it worth their high prices? From the outside looking in their cookie cutter approach seems sterile and boring. Personally I would never give them a dime for what they are offering as I don’t like the concept nor the setup. Curious if anyone that has used BlockParty would recommend it.

I am categorically opposed to them. I cannot stand the idea of homogenized tailgating like that. Not at LSU.
Having said that, at lunch yesterday with my company’s VP we were discussing a tailgate for UGA and someone brought up BlockParty. He said we contacted them and they are already completely sold out for Georgia.
Wanted to joke that any company doing that at LSU sold out long ago. But we were both really surprised the demand was there. My guess is that any marquee games will be the same thing. But the low level games won’t sell. Putting downward pressure on those prices.
Sad, really. I’m worried they are here to stay.

Or once the new wears off and people realize they're getting blah for their money maybe they'll stop paying for that shite and it will fade away.

Depends who is putting up the money. If it's these huge companies that the pricing for the tailgate isn't even a drop in the bucket then I don't think they'll ever really be concerned about the pricing. There are vendors I deal with that have season tickets to LSU, Saints, Pelicans, etc only to hand out to their customers.

I’m assuming that with corporations and big companies buying them it’s as much about getting prime location near stadium

Wonder how many of those might be Georgia fans traveling here. Would make sense for them flying in. Of course, that would really be ironic for LSU to take away Tiger fans tailgating spots to make a buck letting a vendor sell them to opposing fans.

1100 dollars for the basic standard package for up to 15 people is a rip off
I saw the link to blockparty on the food board and checked it out.
Its very generic

I have some friends that use “Tailgate Guys” in Auburn. They all have kids that attend Auburn.
They pay $12k for 10x20 tent, 2 TV’s generator, tables and ice. There are 5 families that all “split” the costs. The morning of the game, they can drive up and drop off anything they need for the tailgate and the Tailgate Guys have golf carts and drive it to their spot.
With this being said, I was raised tailgating outside the AG Center, a lot of times we were out there as the sun was coming up. We grew into a large group with TV’s, grills, sound system, etc....which is what it is all about.
I can say the older I get, it does seem a lot easier to just pull up and drop your shite off, hang out not load or worry about anything working/breaking.

How do they set up. You tell them where to go? What if the spot is taken? Seems like a fight at sonic is waiting to happen

Yes, this is for the entire season. The price goes up or down based on what you “select” (In terms of TV, Tables, Generator, Chairs, etc). They also provide bartenders/liquor if you want to pay for this as well.
Basically, The tailgate guys pay a very large royalty to Auburn, in turn Auburn gives them the rights to the prime location outside the stadium. Most all of the tents are 10x10, but there are a few 10x20 tents. If I had to guess, there are at least 100-200 tents by the quad and outside the stadium

They surcharge the marquee games to make up for the low margins on the lower tier games when many sit idle.
They are not going anywhere. If anything, it is going to grow. I would bet by 2025, to tailgate anywhere in the middle of campus, you will be required to utilize a university approved vendor (i.e. BlockParty). It will be standardized and with a "clean" footprint. The days of Boudreaux and fam backing up the F250 with their jambalaya rig and DJ speakers on Tower or Dalrymple will be gone. Replaced by Lance and Blake renting you a complete setup through their corporate structure.

Price seems unreal
But for someone who has to fly in I don't hate the idea

Wow, that's incredibly sad. But, hey, we are getting lazier as a society and Joe is taking advantage of that.
We paid +/- $1900.00 for my son's rehearsal party a week ago today at Rock-N-Bowl. That covered 40 people with delicious food and open bar for two hours, and we added a bar tab after the fact and continued to bowl. We got our money's worth, asking half of that for ONLY 15 people? Money-grab.

Wait until the 2:30 kickoff is announced. All of those people will have spent all of that money for 4 hours of tailgating.
eta: My group tailgates right across the street from their set up. It was only SLU and La. Tech but the whole area was bland and sterile. The biggest most occupied tent was their own hospitality tent with their own employees. The big deal here is LSU rents the space to Blockparty so they already have their money. They don't give a shite.

Holy shite. The thing that jumps out here is how much real estate that company takes up at Auburn.
