(Update on page 5) I got robbed at university edge apartments today

I was selling a ps4 on letgo today and I met the buyer at university edge apartments right outside of LSU. I have sold items on letgo at those apartments before and never had a problem. Well today finally bit me in the arse.
It was two guys in the car and the passenger got out and was handing me the money. While I was holding the ps4 under my arm he leaned forward while handing me the money and push the shot out of me to the ground not expecting that to happen. While he pushed me down the driver pulled up and he passenger picked up the ps4 and hopped in and they drove off hauling arse.
Everything happened so fast I couldn’t get the license plate. I knew the police station was down the street so I went over there and all they did was take my license and asked if I had a serial number. Unfortunately I didn’t and that is my fault. They didn’t ask me what car they were driving or what they look like and it was like oh well bye. This sucks and this will be my last time I ever sell something in person. I know dear diary!

University Edge has cameras, but I would warn you, it might bite you in the arse again when you tell them you used their private property without their permission and a theft occurred.
Also, BRPD has safe transaction zones for these very reasons. You should've had them meet you at the second district police station since, you know, it was right down the street.

This would have never happened at El Cid

Serves you right for being in a bad part of town

Shouldn't have letgo.

My buddy and his gf had same thing happen on letgo last night. You have to be extremely cautious. Open carry doesn’t hurt

Buddy system.
Learn it, because they have.

That truly stinks
Next time meet at the police station straight up..
Also, try buying and selling off facebook market place, it's free and you can check out their facebook profiles to determine what you think.. if they are real or not.. etc.
I'm really sorry about that.

Maybe someone can stage another meet up and be prepared this way.
Can't stand people who would do this.

Yeah, I wouldn't risk it. Perhaps someone could have others looking in from a distance as well. Be all elaborate.
For real though, OP just be glad they didn't kill you.

I called the apartment office and told them what happened and if they had any cameras. They said the location I was at the cameras were facing the other direction. I only met them there because they said they lived there and I have dealt with students who lived there in the past. I guess selling stuff online for years I felt like it would never happen to me.

That’s why I sell all my miscellany in the Walmart parking lot. They have security and camera surveillance. Consider this an important lesson

You can't trust anyone these days. A friend of mine was at Academy on Siegen at noon today when they watched a group of four people walk in and leave with stacks of merchandise without paying, or caring for that matter.
Trust no one, protect yourself. Lesson learnt.
