Found this little guy outside of our office. I'm guessing it is around 12" and none of us are real sure what it is. And no, we did not kill it...

Dekay's brown snake (Storeria dekayi). Harmless. Eats slugs and other invertebrates.

Others have already ID'ed correctly, however, in my neighborhood, this same pic except the head separated and would have been followed by a message declaring it a copperhead "and it'll kill ya". Then they will argue that they are correct.
