He wouldn't
I want no part of butler

quote:
Ajinca and Butler to Nets
Dudley and Moore to Wolves with a protected first from Brooklyn and Pels.
Carroll and Dinwiddie to Pels.
I like it.
Ajinca is expiring
Moore is a good player on a solid contract
We are giving up a first?
I would like those players on the team, but that seems like a lot for those two guys. I would think we would rather unload Solo with the first.
Maybe if Solo was somehow included. I would rather keep Ajinca just because he is expiring. It would give us more future flexibility. I wonder with some cap magic if that would allow you to bring everyone back the next season. It would hurt to lose Moore.
Payton/Dinwiddie
Holiday/Clark/Jackson
Carroll/Miller
Davis/Randle
Mirotic/J. Okafor

Brooklyn makes the most sense. In addition to their own 1st they have Denver's 2019 1st so throwing in a 1st is easier for them than any other team mentioned. What team is going to beat an offer of Carroll/Dinwiddie/1st ? That's 2 useful win now players and a future asset.
Whether they're willing to pony up that much remains to be seen but if Jimmy approved them specifically because he wants to recruit another max player, how could Brooklyn not go after him hard?

I just don't believe that Minny will trade him for a package centered around picks. If they do, Thibs quits the next day IMO
The one way I can see the Pels swinging something is that you basically move Solo and a pick for a wing the Wolves actually want. Like, imagine they talk to the Wolves and the Wolves like Bazemore. You call Atlanta, offer Hill, Ajinca and a first for Baze (thats what Atlanta was willing to take a month ago, Pels didn't want to give up the pick)... then you add Etwaun. Wolves effectively get Moore and Baze for Jimmy (other small things will have to be in the trade to make it legal)
Thibs would definitely prefer those two guys to some package of picks and prospects.

Man that would have been a horrible trade for the Pels for Baze only a month ago. I would probably do that deal for Jimmy tho. That’s if we could still keep Mirotic but who says Thibs would do that deal.

Butler won't be a Pel. The trade should be done soon. Pels will get a wing at some point, but I bet the guy they get won't have that high of a usage and will be a better shooter

butler is a really overrated offensive player if he’s the main option.
if he goes someplace like the clips or nets and he’s the scoring focal point I think that team will regret signing him to that huge deal he wants.
his impact on wins/losses is undeniable though on defense and competitiveness.
I’d like to see him go to the bucks. They could basically swap Middleton for butler and he’d fit right on in with that team and make them scary.

My dark horse is the Pacers. I think they have a lot of pieces Thibs would like and I think they'd have the balls to trade for Butler and think they can convince him to stay

My dark horse is OKC. They always seem to come out of nowhere in these situations.

I would love another small market team pick up Bulter and keep him. I hate always seeing every good player wants to go to either LA, Miami, and NY BS.
I would like a good shooting wing that isn’t ball dominant but can still 20 every once in awhile. A solid 2/3 option that is athletic and can knock down the 3.
