I've had to block trades late in the season because someone out of the playoffs is obviously trying to offload players to contenders.

It's not the commissioners job to police everyone's roster. It's their job to make sure there's no obvious under handed bullshite taking place. Simply being lopsided does not make a trade veto worthy.

Key word in all of this is "obvious".

BS -if a commissioner loses his grip, the league could fall apart

still, you have times when a team is so bad, that 3 shitty players for 1 stud is an improvement to the bad team.

I just don't think it is ever obvious. If you are going to interfere later in the season, everything is fair game.

Sure. Blocking trade rape because one of your players isn't very good can cause leagues to fall apart as well.

Not even remotely true.

Do you ever have proof ?

I have only ever seen 2 vetoed trades. The first was the first year of the league and my friends roommate brought in 3 of his buddies, 2 of them traded 2 players and then a week later tried to trade the same players back. It was just a way to get around a bye week for one of them.

The other was a few years later and a guy brought his brother into the league. After a few weeks it was clear the brother wasn't managing his team; all waiver claims and lineup decisions were being made at the same time. You could argue that they talked about it on the phone or the one brother couldn't use the app or a computer for some reason. After about 7 weeks they made a questionable trade and the league freaked out and vetoed it. In fairness I thought it was a pretty close trade but at the time the rest of the league had the votes to kill it.

The next year I changed the settings to commissioner being the only one that could kill a trade.

I take a poll of the league. Sorry of like a vote but just to see if there are any major complaints.

I'd quit your league is this was vetoed

No trade should be vetoed EVER unless collusion is involved

Do you really think Bell is coming back next week? What if he doesn't come back until week 10 and you look back at this veto and say "oops, sorry dude you were right"

There really is a very plausible reason why both people would make this trade. It looks like a real possibility that Bell is serious about his long term hold out. AP looked legit in his first week. It's a perfectly reasonable trade. I'd go as far as to say that you're an unequivocal a-hole if you veto this trade.

Yea not veto worthy

Look back at the trades after David Johnson went down last year. You really don’t know if Bell is coming back. Same situation was with DJ . Maybe he’s back week 8 maybe not but take what you get if you don’t want to risk it

did yall offer anything better for Bell?

This is my point. The league sets the price of a player via offers. If you’ve got someone better on your team to offer and you want Bell. Do it. If not, then AP is the price.

Not to mention, your vote should have absolutely zero to do with the decisions on my team. If he would have drated AP over Bell, would you have the same issue?

To;DR: be salty, but do it silently and alone.

I hate trade veto’s. Trading in the fantasy leagues I’m in is so difficult bc I play with at least competent people.

The only time I would ever allow a veto is if there is obvious collusion or if one person is taking advantage of another.

Other than that, I allow everything
