Kelvin Joseph Looked pretty damn good

Back when there were questions about our DB depth and who would play opposite of Greedy, I suggested that KJ would see a lot of PT. The kid looks legit and will be a great asset for the defense. I thought, for a freshman, he looked pretty darn good.
Now that Fulton is back, the depth chart looks a lot better and all those CB’s will be interchangeable and be able to play the left side, right side, and the Nickel position.
I know some thought Kelvin would play safety but I think he will be one of our better CB’s.

Im gonna predict that kelvin Joseph is gonna make people forget about Patrick Surtain Jr. The same way Devin White made us forget about Erik Fowler

I told this to a well known football geek and he basically told me I was a moron.

DB's were shite last night. Period.
Searching for the ball. Not turning around. Garbage TD's given up.
Sorely disappointed. Got time to fix it, though.

I agree and watching the Bama game, I don’t recall seeing Surtain playing any on defense. He may have seen significant playing time had he chosen LSU.

DBs did struggle, but I thought Joseph was second best looking cover guy most of the night. Vincent had a little tougher responsibility than others though.

Idk how much playing time he would have seen with our loaded secondary.

I’m curious to see if they end up moving KJ to the slot as the season progresses.
Vincent seemed to struggle, but give credit to Jeff Thomas. That guy is one of the best slot wideouts in the country.

he committed to LSU as a 5 star CB as a sophomore in high school
his coach only moved him to safety his jr yr to get him more involved because teams stopped throwing at him

Miami receiver group is no joke. (Although the kid who caught the TD on kelvin was also a true freshman.)

I don't know how anyone could defend db not being aware of the ball.
One hit defender in the head.
T.v. Guy spoke as if it had been well defended. Db was lucky it hit him and not the receiver. Pure luck.
Missed opportunity to int

What game was Higgins watching?
Posted on 9/3/18 at 8:17 pm to Dllsu
Jacoby Stevens played a lot as well.

Usually when DBs arnt looking for the ball it's because they are burnt on the play and trying to catch up. We know they have speed so it must be technique. It will improve.

KJ just looks the part. A natural at what he does.

Agree. I was not impressed in the second half with DB play. Two big pass plays and a touchdown? We had them in 2nd and 13 and the got a first down. We had them second and 25 and they went 22 yards to set up 4th and 3 and then they passed for a 3 yard gain. First have much better than second half. I think this will get fixed. More concerned about going 3 for 13 on 3rd down and getting nothing on 2nd and short throughout the game.
