Joe's poise was phenomenal...

Incredible poker face for someone who has never started in that kind of environment.
After his "fumble" - he casually walked the sidelines without giving it a second thought. Never see that stuff
That stats sound about right with having 4 drops and a couple batted balls. Stats will come as His accuracy impressed me as much as the poise.

With all the early pressure and a blitz on 20 of his throws he never got that deer in th3 headlights look. Prime time featured game. Not saying he'll beat everyone in the conference but he won't wilt

He has that Heisman look to him.

Great poised but he has to play ten times better. He was below average overall.

To be fair some of the WR's had drops and didn't really get much separation
But the offense will go as the offensive line goes, we will definitely need to improve on that for sure to have a shot at winning the SEC

Looks like Macaulay Culkin IMO.

I'm not as crazy high on his performance as others, but he was above average at worst.

He's already 10x better than any qb LSU has had the past 5 years.

He was well above average solely on what he did presnap.

He played ok. Good when considering it’s his first game with th team. Nothing more. But he seemed to be in control and I’m sure he’s going to prove he can do better.

Oh....I didn't realize 11-24 for 140 was "above average at worst." So less than 50 percent completion rate is above average? Thanks, for enlightening me.

I hope he turns out to be that much better but he definitely hasn't proven that just yet. Danny Etling averaged 191 yards per game on 59.75 completion percentage.

He also audibled into the 50 yard touchdown run by Brossette.
A qb is much more than a completion percentage.

Within the context of this particular game, yes.

Great audible but that play doesn't cancel out the fact that he was below 50 percent in passing.

Every team has a couple drops, but when you only throw the ball 24 times, they hurt your numbers considerably. I thought he made good decisions and accurate throws. Really only remember two poor throws all game, obviously not counting a couple throw aways under pressure.

Below average in what World? The 11-24 5.8yd average 0 interceptions.
Considering the plays where a Miami pass rusher went unblocked and drops, I disagree. In the World of LSU football when was the last game we had 24 pass attempts? Never mind that with a strong lead you wouldn't expect a "balanced" offense to pass more.
Joe delivered the ball with good accuracy and some zip that won't allow defenses as much time to react as Etling's passes.
Not bad at all for his 1st start!

I loved how he kept his eyes down field and was poised even when in the run. Very Matt Mauck feel to him last night.

This is a silly stat to grab onto for this game. His completion percentage wasn’t indicative of his accuracy.
4-6 of those “incompletions” were intentional throw aways to avoid sacks. That I would argue is a positive.
At least 2 passes were pretty clear drops. How is that burrow’s fault?
Just because his completion percentage is lower than 50% doesn’t mean his play was below 50%.
