re: Is 2020 a rebuild year or will we still be a top-10 team?

I think we are going to have a cohesive group of talent.
Brennen is going to do fine
Auburn and Georgia are well positioned to improve. Alabama? Sabin needs coaches as bad as we do. For the second year in a row Alabama did not play up to their talent! They are loaded, but don't finish. I hope their starting players with eligibility return to polute the younger players.

re: Does the ball have to be COMPLETELY outside of cylinder???
Posted by Mongoose on 2/13/19 at 2:29 pm
Completely inside. But goaltending includes any ball with the potential of going in. (A judgement of the referee.) So in this instance the direction of travel of the ball is relevant. If the ball had struck the rim and still traveling towards the goal, it would have been goaltending even if not within the cylinder. However with the ball travelling away from the backboard after striking the front of the rim, it was a good tip-in.
re: Just to Clarify.....THIS IS GOALTENDING......

Only if in the judgement of the referee the action impacted the ball. Which it did not appear to have to me. His hand was down before the ball arrived and didn't have a lasting impact on the goal.
You can vote me down, but read the rule. The call is not automatic. It is left to the referee's judgement.

re: Joe's poise was phenomenal...

Below average in what World? The 11-24 5.8yd average 0 interceptions.
Considering the plays where a Miami pass rusher went unblocked and drops, I disagree. In the World of LSU football when was the last game we had 24 pass attempts? Never mind that with a strong lead you wouldn't expect a "balanced" offense to pass more.
Joe delivered the ball with good accuracy and some zip that won't allow defenses as much time to react as Etling's passes.
Not bad at all for his 1st start!

My guess is a one game suspension.
I guess they couldn't go to the police to recover their items because a friend discovered the location buying stolen goods.

LSU will get an ugly win. Word on the street is LSU players found a good source of weed this month.
re: Players Pissed at the Booing
Posted by Mongoose on 10/3/11 at 4:58 pm
For the record, I didn't boo.
I thought the boos were relatively light and I didn't take them to mean anything more than an expression of dissatisfaction with JJ's off the field decision to break curfew and involve the team in a bad situation. The fact that no booing is condoned in Tiger Stadium, (hard to imagine) this incident should have passed without comment to the press.

JJ is back on the team after foolishly tarnishing LSU reputation and risking his and LSU's championship aspirations. JJ may feel he has already suffered enough for getting his team in a bar fight after curfew.
However, the fourth and goal QB sneak opportunity was the first opportunity the public has had to express their displeasure with JJ's actions.
The boos were earned, even if not timely.
