And in 2025 there will be Trumpsearch.com. That will be the one that gets a monopoly.

Are you all really ok with Trump threatening to regulate a private business just because he is unhappy about his Google searches?

Would not be happy if it actually came to pass, but I see this more like a body check in hockey.

The great thing about Trump is you never know if he is going to follow up or not, so you kinda have to take it seriously. This might just be nothing. Or will he could bring down a thunderstorm of regulation on them.

So hopefully Google (and others like Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, etc) will see this and start to straighten up.

So you think the government would only use a little bit of power over these companies? Come on.

I'm saying I would only support regulations that further the free dissemination of speech or protect other rights afforded to the populace by the Constitution. I can't speak to what else the government may or may not do.

Roger, we don't differ on much. I do not agree that we have free trade.

What we have had is lobbyists buying politicians (and you know I am right) to sell out the American people. You know damn well that happened a lot. "I will give your son a billion dollar contract if you can make it to where I can move my plant over to china"

We should be able to agree on that.

As a result, we have put more people on welfare than ever before (percentage wise). Then we bitch about having to pay for people on welfare.

It's not that we are anti free trade. We are anti "Free Trade" that's not free. Don't wrap up a present and say "Here isn't it great!?!?" It's shite. … "No.. it's a new car"... No... It's SHITE.

When he is gone, Let's hope new deals are in place that will keep Americans working and pride and honor built back up that comes from hard work and accomplishments.

So what if the TV cost me $100 more when I actually have a job now and make way more.

You all talk a big game but all that matters is the vote. And in your case that vote is completely secure regardless.

Big difference between what people say and what they do. Also, you don't get any points for being reasonable if your main point of contention is that they aren't far enough to the right (or left) in the case of many democrats.
The only criticisms I see Intra-party from either side are of ideological purity.. which is quickly making our government a pendulum swing of dysfunction from one administration to the next. My 2 cents.

Well, you implied that this behavior was somehow exclusive to the left and that the right "isn't lockstep". My point is that your statement isn't true in the only way that actually matters.

Can we please, once and for all, get rid of the canard that Republicans are for smaller government?

Democrats want a big government, to tell you what to do, and to take all your money to control you.

Republicans want a bug government, to tell you what to do, and while they will let you keep some of your money, they want to borrow from your kids and grandkids to be able to get the money needed to control you.

The free market solution here is for another company to step up and challenge Google, if they feel there is a market for a competitor.

I am saying that if there is no scenario where an issue would change your vote then for all practical purposes the only time you exercise your citizen influence is during primaries. It's the problem with a polarized two party system.
