Will he do better or worse than his stint with the Saints?

Vikings
Saints
Cardinals
Redskins

No better 3 yard back in the league.

He kinda fizzled faster than I expected for being such a great RB for years. Kinda strange how he has faltered.

The 30 wall spares no running back.

He is 33. As a RB even if great that is old... many great ones fizzled out in 7ish years and this will be his 11th.

This.

The Redskins are desperate for someone in the backfield. But, I don't think AP is the answer to this problem.

I like what the redskins are doing. They have a solid safe QB, a tough RB, and a defense that is going to be solid. I expect them to be in the payoffs.

The Redskins are simply replacing Derrius Guice. I doubt 33 year old Adrian Peterson, who was unemployed a week ago, is going to step in and start. He's there for depth, not to shoulder the load of carries. Nothing against Peterson as I think he's arguably a top 3 back of all-time, but his body has taken a beating and hasn't been able to stay healthy in over 5 years. Since his comeback 2012 season, he's had seasons cut short to injury in 3 of the past 5 years. He just doesn't have the explosion he used to, and when running backs hit that wall, they typically go downhill pretty fast. but like I alluded to earlier, he was still one of the best backs in the league at age 30, which is extremely impressive by itself. I just think that season ending knee injury in 2015 was probably it for him.

If Thompson is back to how he was before he got hurt last year

Him and AP will be a good backfield combo.
