You realize there are a few posters here that were actually AT the scrimmage and witnessed the suckage in person, right?

I think they all do it

of course they are "fabricated". the situations are fabricated ergo the stats sans a detailed explanation are also meaningless (in a sense, fabricated).
frankly, I love the enthusiasm about LSU but damn the melts over nothing is very tiring. I think the "disconnect" is that we fans do not get to see the "scrimmage" nor do we know the situations. also, a good many fans wouldn't know how practices are structured and a scrimmage IS a practice.
but we do have an inexperienced offense and a talented one. it is common sense that we are going to come out slow and improve as the year progresses. we will struggle for awhile. THIS is the one year I wish we were starting off against a couple of pancakes. but we're not so it is what it is.
we may need luck to beat Miami but this team should be much better when we go to Georgia to play auburn.

There were people watching the scrimmage. It was bad as the stats showed according to them.

Some of you people are really dumb.

Who would've thought Orgeron is playing 7d underwater hungry hungry hippos and the rest of the sec coaches are playing chinese checkers

I was at the scrimmage, what he says is fact. The def. just kills our off.

Who cares. Scrimmages are tailored to what the coaches want to see and is situational.
By this time the last ten years we were supposed to have Heisman winning QB's in Jordan Jefferson, Anthony Jennings, and Brandon Harris from all the "coach talk" about them.

"scrimmage" - you can walk out on the field and say 'do over'. Wouldn't even know the purpose...

If he’s fabricating offensive stats, then our defense is even better than he wants people to think. And on the flip side, the offense is worse than people think. Because I don’t know how many of y’all know anything at all about football, but if those offensive numbers are inflated, he’s making up numbers that aren’t good to make terrible numbers sound like mediocre numbers.
That being said, I don’t know how he runs his scrimmages. I doubt they try to just go up and down the field, I imagine it’s situational to put the offense in inopportune situations to see how they manage and vice versa for the defense. So they may actually be really good numbers. I don’t know. And neither do any of you. Scrimmage numbers have never mattered in the past and that’s not going to change this year.

I don't think it really matters one way or the other. One thing I have always said is that scrimmage scores and stats have little effect on games. Once these kids run out of that tunnel behind O, things will be fine.

Is it possible that Orgeron makes up scrimmage statistics to throw off our opponent? Similar to how coaches can downplay or embellish injury reports. I really am not concerned with the lack-luster stats in a controlled scrimmage, but wonder if maybe he deludes reality a little bit in order to make us look a little weaker offensively. It's no secret that our defense will be our strength- so saying they've been dominant isn't giving anything away. Just a question that has crossed my mind and am interested to see what others think.
