That's your opinion and a valid one, but has nothing to do with the conversation at hand.
Trump cancelled this parade because of the projected cost, someone said "sure , blame someone else" to which I responded asking if that person really believed Trump had anything to do with the much higher estimated cost than originally anticipated.
The fact that you believe it would be a waste of money at any cost is really irrelevant to the conversation at hand.

The American Legion: Fund troops over the parade.
“The American Legion appreciates that our president wants to show in a dramatic fashion our nation’s support for our troops. However, until such time as we can celebrate victory in the War on Terrorism and bring our military home, we think the parade money would be better spent fully funding the Department of Veterans Affairs and giving our troops and their families the best care possible,”
Poor optics he caved.

Good this was pretty idiotic for a country that is $20 trillion in debt and hasn't done something like this in decades.
