Friend of mine estimated his deer meat was costing him about $800 a pound when he factored in all the associated cost.

Not really,

Annual cost of lease, food and supplies for use at lease + Cost of 4 wheeler, trailer, Camper trailer, pickup rated to pull trailers, required clothes, firearms, other assorted gear amortized over its useful life. It adds u fast and takes a lot of deer meat to offset the cost.

My grandpa would go out to the refuge, turn his c.b. on to listen to the hunters running dogs. He wouldn't even get out of his bronco to pop one.

These so called hunters have use bait, lol.
