How many of those 39 linemen were walkons?
No idea. Go to LSUsports.net and find out for yourself.
I can tell you that were only a couple of names (perhaps 3 or 4) on each side of the ball that were names I had never heard of.

Not only did O inherit all those NFL players drafted, he also inherited several FA's that made a NFL roster
Excellent point

Which players did O process that were worth a shite?

It was due to Orgeron cutting the wasted fat of Les Miles desperate reaches of recruits who had no business playing for LSU. Les Miles was being out recruited at every turn for the big uglies, and qbs. His grade school offense mentality had caught up with him, and LSU. Orgeron, and Ensminger are working their asses off to turn this worm, and doing a COY award effort. Just who did Orgeron process that was worth a shite?
Les had at least one NFL draftee on the OL since 2013 and two one year... Were these substandard linemen? There are always players that don't pan out but to say LSU didn't have any talent along the line is false. We are also talking about depth. Not all 2 deep players are starters but are needed when injuries occur.

The talent left was not championship talent, but it was enough to be competitive.
You don't think we had the team last year to win a championship? Beat Troy and Miss St and you would have played for the SEC championship with the chance to get in the playoffs at 11-1. We had the talent last year and the it showed in the draft.

So when CEO lost to the likes of Troy, CEO was not held to the same standard as Les Miles. Why?
What fricking rock you been under? People been screaming for CEO to be retroactively fired for that since then and even if he wins a natty they will never forgive him for it.
Have you ever heard of an AD holding a coaches mtg after a loss to air the laundry and make some decisions...

After the '15 season ended LSU had 10 offensive and 10 defensive scholarship linemen returning for the '16 season. That aint much.
The '16 signing class brought in four offensive and five defensive linemen. Do believe that was the only class EdO was the recruiting coordinator.
That's a total of 29 scholarship linemen.
Of those 14 Olinemen, four transferred out and three barely saw the field. That's zero production from half of the scholarship Olinemen on that '16 roster.
Of those 15 Dlinemen, three transferred out and two more have barely seen the field.
