Orgeron frickin said himself that this wasn't a rebuild, but that he would reload and he would help us compete for championships immediately. I would be absolutely naive to believe in his crap, so this is just one of many instanced where our head football coach is full of crap.

LSU is very comfortable with a three-man rotation up front, which includes four seniors – LaCouture, Greg Gilmore in the middle, and veterans Frank Herron and Deondre Clark as backups on the ends. Ed Alexander adds quality depth at the nose, giving LSU the deepest D-line its had in a while.
I bet he gets more lot of clicks writing sunshine material. I thought that list was relatively pedestrian going into the season. How many snaps did Clark get in the three years before this was written, 10 at most? Who else on that list had done anything exceptional to that point? I don’t expect a Dorsey every year, but don’t tell me how great and deep a squad is based on seniority. I’m much more excited about this year’s line that won’t play a single senior.

That's a rant myth. The roster at the start of the 2016 season shows we had 21 defensive linemen and 18 offensive linemen on the team. Then after o was named the head coach, there was a mass exodus of linemen that left the program.

Excellent job on doing your Home-work and presenting great facts! Not accusations!

So it is fair to say that Les was a good recruiter and supplied the coaching staff with plenty of talent. It is either disingenuous, lying, or ignorant of the facts to say that Les left the cupboard bare for CEO. There was no rebuilding to be done by CEO. This is a false narrative being painted by individuals for fallacious reasons. As clearly as the facts show the cupboard is full, CEO should be held to the same standard as Les Miles. We reload at LSU! We don't rebuild. CEO should win championships now based on the cupboard being full!
How do you get all these downvotes for stating facts? Excellent research btw, thanks.
Not only did O inherit all those NFL players drafted, he also inherited several FA's that made a NFL roster and a few others that made practice squads.
That 2016 team was so loaded. Losing to Florida at home as a 2 td favorite with the Sugar bowl on the line was as worse as losing to Troy the following yr, imo.
2 huge losses in as many years....
Hard to say LSU has upgraded their HC at this point.
After this years recruiting cycle and win-loss record the situation should become crystal clear.

This was mainly due to transfers on the offensive line. But also miles preferred 4 guards because of the run heavy offense.
----------
It was due to Orgeron cutting the wasted fat of Les Miles desperate reaches of recruits who had no business playing for LSU. Les Miles was being out recruited at every turn for the big uglies, and qbs. His grade school offense mentality had caught up with him, and LSU. Orgeron, and Ensminger are working their asses off to turn this worm, and doing a COY award effort.
Just who did Orgeron process that was worth a shite?

He got roasted for beating Troy.
I’d imagine Baton Rouge would have shut down had he lost.

Yup. 5 OL left, including one who never even made it on campus

Any team and any coach can be upset.
We should never have lost to Troy, Saban should never have lost to UAB, and Arnspsrger should never have lost to Miami of Ohio; however, they did.
Miles left O with talent, but some issues too. The talent left was not championship talent, but it was enough to be competitive.
O has to prove he can work through issues, and recruit better talent. He hasn't done that to date. Will he? Stay tuned, after an ordinary start he made changes that will or will not help.

who is bama's specific QB coach?

and then the season came.
How many games was Herron suspended? Clark never panned out. Was it state game where Lacoture played every defensive snap?
Teuhema transfers out. Mailman,Jr is injured most of the year and Weathersby has his own injury problems. That's three of the starting five that either missed the whole year or a good bit of it.

EdO was names recruiting coordinator in the spring of '16. Then he was named interim head coach after four games into the '16 season.
How do you get two years as RC before becoming head coach?

Bravo son. Never has been a talent issue since Led started.
It's an O issue and offensive scheme issue.

How many of those 39 linemen were walkons? If they were all on scholarship that doesn't leave too many for all the other positions.

I thought it was more than that. But either way, they left under o's watch. It's on him, not Miles.
There was somebody a few days ago in another thread that said Miles left o with something like 4 offensive linemen and 3 defensive linemen when he left. It was a confusing post, but that's the kind of shite that the o-supporters come up with to excuse him of not having the team (his team) ready to play ball last September.
fricking amazing.

Show me the top end OL/DL talent
We had 6 combined in the draft last year and 1 was drafted, in the 7th rd
Les left WR in shambles mainly because guys like Trey Quinn, Ty Johnson & John Diarse ran from our terrible QB play.
LB was not left in a good spot either. Coach O revamped the position almost over night
As far as OP, you cannot pin the lack of success of the 2016 team on him. As talented as it was, it was tainted the minute they decided to retain lea miles

Then of course there is this from last year. Pretty impressive considering who was injured last year & who we were able to get snaps too.
