Hopefully the compliance department can do something right for once and would love to see Scott van pelt put the NCAA on blast on sports center.

He's not some kind of innocent victim. This is not a good look, nor is it a very sympathetic cause, and I'm embarrassed for those who can't take off their purple and gold glasses.

I haven’t seen any LSU fan say he didn’t deserve to be punished but the punishment needs to be fair. One year suspension is more than fair.

He is not but if the NCAA was consistent in the past I would be ok but people have done far worst then what he did and did not do half the punishment Kristen is doing right now.

He's not an innocent victim, but almost everyone feels the punishment is overkill. So it would be a good time to try to bring attention to and change the rule so that guys who make stupid decisions in the future get a more reasonable punishment. A year sitting out is plenty enough.

If you were an LSU fan or alum we'd be embarrassed to have the likes of you claiming to be one of us.

You're right. But he violated a rule.

If you had to pass a drug test for a job and this happened, you either wouldn't get the job or you'd be fired the minute they found out.

Welcome to the real world where you get punished when you do the wrong thing. Follow the rules until you can change them.

No one is denying that he did something wrong. The problem is that the NCAA constantly has granted reduced suspensions for players that have done things far worse.

Get off your high horse. The kid made a mistake. Taking away 50% of someone’s eligibility is absurd. You’re missing the point. Why is Jeffery Simmons allowed to play

Well, if that happens then you apply for a new job.The NCAA completely banned him from playing college football. According to your analogy, someone that fails a drug test at work would be legally prevented from getting another job in their field for 2 years.

If he would have he would have only been suspended for a year tops. That is the hypocrisy which is the NCAA.

Also has there been any school close to LSU who has lost key players due to drug infractions? I know LSU isn't doing any more drugs then any other college not named BYU.
