As far as actual talent level, it's preseason.
You can still evaluate
These throws are great and what makes a pro qb
It being "preseason" doesnt matter. He threw the ball to the spot the size of a dinner plate
sorry for the potato quality

I think he’s more jeff Garcia than Brees.

Haven't heard that name in a while.

1) Hat
2) Brooch
3) Pterodactyl
Not necessarily in that order...

That he's got the ability to be a good qb in the league. I don't want to see him scramble a lot (Unless it's in the Russell Wilson) style.

But these are combine measurments
Mayfield
6' 5/8"
215 lbs
Brees
6'0"
213 lbs
So that feels pretty close to me

I thought he looked pretty good. Few of his passes were well behind his receiver including his TD pass to his TE. I liked his pocket presence and how he ran for short yardage after plays broke down a few times

He stepped up in pocket and kept eyes downfield
Only left pocket when it was absolutely neccessary
He really isnt a runner TBH

he dropped that pass the only place he could between two defenders

He's not. But I hope he doesn't lean on that as a way of getting himself out of trouble.
I also don't think Hue Jackson is the answer as far as an HC goes.

I was a believer before preseason started.

Garcia won grey cup once.
5 seasons Canada.
Got a solid retiement from.nfl, bounced from team to team, mainly starting only when star qb had injury.

I’m talking more about talent level & style in relation to size

I invision Mayfield with the potential to be as accurate as Brees, which I know is going out on a huge limb
But his adjusted completion pct in college was 82.6%
His adjusted completion pct on deep balls (passes over 20 yards) was 62.5%
That is elite stuff, and brings me far closer to comparing him to Brees than Garcia
We shall see though

He looked like he belonged and the Browns might have actually found themselves a franchise QB. He routinely went through his progressions, had good pocket awareness, and made some impressive throws. I also came away thinking that Callaway will be a stud NFL WR if he keeps his head on straight.
We know exactly what kind of QB Tyrod Taylor is. He's a good placeholder QB..sort of like a slightly worse version of Alex Smith.

Hey i like the guy, but im not ready to go all in and say he will be Brees that easy.
It's an easy comparison, but history tells us likely not.
