To the guys that know how transfers work. If Meyer is fired can guys transfer and not have to sit out? Also is there any players on Ohio Stete roster that were recruited by LSU that would have
Interest in playing here?
Interest in playing here?

Why is that ? Wondering if any current players there could possibly transfer here!

What a bunch of asshats down voting somebody asking a question.

I believe they would have to receive a bowl ban in addition to the coach leaving for that situation to be of any relevance.

To answer your question players can now transfer and not sit out a year. This rule was just implemented and has coaches worried that this could cause an "open market" for players. That being said if Urban is fired fall camp has already started and there may be a couple of transfers, but not many. Also I wouldn't see any of these players coming to LSU. The recruting dynamic would be different and they would lose multiple commits though. A couple of guys in there we could pursue.

Thanks! I do rememeber losing a few recruits to OS a few years back. I was just interested

Thanks! Not that I would want him but didn’t their QB choose OS over LSU last year?

Yeah, if you're thinking about Matthew Baldwin a QB recruit from the 2018 cycle. He was from Lake Travis HS in Austin. We kind of pushed late for him, but didn't end up getting him. He was a low end 4 star guy, not sure how much of a chance we really did have with him though.

Pretty sure you have this wrong. The new rule allows players to transfer without obtaining permission from the old school but they still have to sit out a year unless they are a grad transfer. They still have to abide by conference rules as well, so they would likely need permission to transfer within the conference for the P5 school.

Yeah I guess you're right, although it seems like there are exceptions to sitting out.

There are. Grad students, JuCo, and transfers from lower divisions(I think).

You don't get to transfer any differently if your coach leaves or gets fired.

You do know we recently fired a coach while we were stocked with talent right? Did you think the players were just too enamored with our replacement to consider getting poached by bama or Osu?

I believe that would depend on a ncaa ruling. You would think they would allow transfers but it’s the ncaa and the one thing they are not is consistent.

He would not be fired for an NCAA violation, just violation of his personal contract with Ohio State, so there would be no waiver for transfers.
If it was an NCAA allegation it would take a year or two for the investigation and ruling on the charges so current older players would be long gone. Any current players at the time would have the same options as Ole Miss players. These are two different scenarios.
