Jokes on you for listening. I stop them before the story starts.
Same here. I don’t even let them approach me.

I try to do that, but sometimes they get to talking and I just tell them "Nah, man, I'm good." That usually works. But I have noticed them getting not only more prevalent, but more aggressive as well.
The black dude(s) at Siegen and the interstate that walk and weave through the cars are annoying as frick. They literally come up to the window and start talking sometimes. I usually just stare forward and turn my music up. Or I look at them and shake my head no.

Last week a lady came up asking for money. I told her sorry, no cash. She said completely seriously, "that just don't make no sense. You need to carry cash to help people. That's stupid." It made me bust out laughing in her face until she left.

Back in the mid 90s I had a morning advocate route to businesses down Greenwell Springs Rd to the Central area. It's around 3am and I walk out of a Circle K to get some bundles and put of nowhere, the biggest black man I've ever seen is standing behind me
Scares the shite out of me but when he starts his story about his wallet getting stolen and needing to borrow a few bucks, his voice is distinctly familiar. He asked if I watched wrestling and before he could say it I say "Hey, you're the Junkyard Dog!"
I had $10 on me and gave it to him. He told me to bring my kid by where he was signing autographs the weekend and he'd pay me back and take pics with my kid. I didn't care and just was glad I wasn't going to die.
Was kinda sad looking back on it getting panhandle by JYD.

I did fall for an old guy inside Trader Joe's that got me when I wasn't thinking. See I am on my guard outside of the store but inside I am thinking what I need and I have children with me most of the time.
So he immediately compliments my children then ask if I go to church, which of course is a red flag because he is trying to see if I am a gullible person. So I say yes because I am not thinking and he immediately launches into a sob story. The guy looks legit so I say I don't mind buying him some food. I have often said if they are legit I will go the food route for anyone. Well he starts piling the buggy high with all sorts of things. He got greedy. Luckily the manager comes and shoos him out and takes all the stuff he put in out of my buggy and apologizes for it. It really pissed me off because I would have gladly helped him but he was just scamming me.
So, moral is beware both inside and outside of stores. Now they are doing both.

It’s beyond frustrating how people still insist on handing their money to this trash. Do these people not look around and notice how many beggars there are? Have they never heard the reports that these are scams?

Happened to me at Lowe's. I had some wire shelving in my cart to put up in the laundry room and a clean-cut European American male, about 30 years old, comes up to me and asks if I need help installing them. Says he'll do all of them (4) for $100.
I laughed and said no, I was completely capable of putting them up myself. He then asked me if there was anything else he could do for me for $100.
I didn't know what to say. I knew he was propositioning me but I was speechless. I managed to get out a curt no and walked away. I probably should have reported him at customer service.

Had a white dude in slacks and a polo come up to me at Chick-fil-A the other week. Started off asking if I went to catholic bc “back in my day I was ok the swim team and used to destroy those catholic high boys” then went in to how he graduated from LSU with a masters and is in town every other week selling medical devices to hospitals. Finally, after trying to trash talk me about swimming, bragging about his awesome job and masters degree, he asked me for $20 to get gas.
This same guy approached me about 2 weeks ago at chick-fil-a on airline near highland. Same exact story. Dude was in his late 40's/early 50's? Seemed legit at first then it quickly became obvious he was a pro.

That’s the guy who approached me. Said he needed to get to St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson, Miss. to sell his devices, but needed to see his cancer-riddled girlfriend at the BR General first.
Dude will tell you his name is ‘Kevin’ but it’s really George. He always seemed like the type to end up like this.

This shite is nothing new.
Winter 1994 I'm working at Outback On Acadian taking out the trash one night. Dude comes across that little walking bridge from the office building with a sob story, saying he was mugged and beaten on his way to bus station. He had a nice bump on back of his head he said was from the beating.
I gave him $5 and a leftover go-box with a big piece of steak and tater someone forgot(we kept them in the kitchen area before eating ourselves or tossing out).
Was not a month later, the same guy with the same story approaches me while shite-canned drunk leaving the Bengal. I tried to pummel him but thank goodness a friend talked me down while he hauled arse towards the police station across the street.
I was 18, drunk, and angry. $5 was a lot of money for a college freshman busboy. I Would have gone to jail that night. frickin scammers.

The first place I'd go if I was homeless would be to a church since they often have programs there for that, and yet, I see the same people month after month.

I usually take one of two routes:
1.) Yell out fairly loudly, “NO MAN I DONT WANT TO frick YOU FOR MONEY, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?”
2.) Say, “Damn man I was literally about to ask you the same thing, think you can spot a guy $5? Gotta get to the bus station”
Method 1 usually works fairly well.

Yea a white guy all dressed up approached me at the shell on college a couple years ago running through some sob story like a coke head about losing his wallet and being in town for work

I wish it was legal for me to get out of my car and put a fricking beat down on these lazy mother duckers.

I think these people are pros, they don't want help or a place to stay, they want cash

Had an old drunk homeless dude with a mangy shite eater in tow get gruff with me one night while in the McD's drive thru. I told him he was drunk and to GTF away from me and he didn't like it.
Recently had a dude in a Popeyes uniform hit me up saying he needed some cash since he'd just started work and hadn't got paid yet. His ladyfriend was dressed nicely. I gave in.

I've had a guy in Denham tell me a sob story about needing gas money to get back to Mississippi. He pointed to a truck with what he said were his wife and child.
6 months later that fricker hit me up again with the same story at the same damn gas station. I asked him "you haven't made it to MS yet?"
