Ways to keep trespassers off access road

Recently the land my family has been leasing to hunt on for years was finally decimated by the timber company. Now we are going to start hunting an old property we haven’t hunted in a while. We have somewhat neglected the property and beginning to get it back right.
So I’m sure there have some folks running the main road. Those of you that have put up gates, do people actually cut locks and go in to hunt? Are there any locks or cables that are somewhat bolt cutter proof?

Not saying they can’t cut it but it’s much harder to cut.

Get a welder to build you a gate. I've seen some on oilfield roads where the lock is placed so you can only access the keyhole on the bottom, it would be nearly impossible to remove the lock without a key without destroying the gate, which is made with thick steel.

Some gates have the lock inside a piece of pipe facing downwards. The eye for the lock goes into a slot into that piece of pipe, and you lock and unlock it from inside the pipe. You can't get bolt cutters in there.
You're gonna have to build a fence to stop four wheelers though

What about chains until I’m able to get a pipe gate built? Are there any cabins that will resist a bolt cutter? Doing a google search I see some that claim so, just wondering if y’all have any experience.

Cameras are your friend, get pics and press charges. Be sure and get a cable to lock them on the tree. I had a problem and had the sheriff talk to the guy. That seemed to work.

we put a gate up and in less than 12 hours some crack heads took a chainsaw to the posts and hauled off the whole thing

You're gonna have a weak point somewhere. I'd secure it comfortably, and put a sign that says, "Smile, you're on camera"

I'd probably be hunting that land where the timber company "decimated" the area. That's where the majic is

I know cutovers are great for deer hunting, but I just enjoy hunting oak bottoms. I just enjoy the scenery.

Also makes a great spot for wasp nest. Nothing like reaching in there to get ready for the season and you get destroyed

grandfather had one like this,
if you go this route, just make sure and look first before reaching in to unlock the lock, as snakes, bees, bugs, and wasp like to hang out in the metal housing.

Recommendation for new posts: PVC or steel pipe filled with quick-crete. Add in rebar to the center for more fun.

Oh and you need horizontal bars welded in the gate facing in and out so they don’t try to push the gate w truck more than once.

Cameras on the gate.
Trespassers cut chain/lock.
Show camera footage to attorney...Profit!
Use money to buy/build a better gate.
Keep moving and camouflaging cameras.
