in Arkansas, you have to be a non profit organization to purchase one such as a volunteer fire department and such. We bought one a few years ago to use as a brush rig, it only had 2100 miles on it. They check regularly to make sure you arent using it for pleasure

Why? If they are demilitarized then they’re no different than some of the trucks you’ll find on the roads right now.

my bad, I misread the thread. We didnt buy from a website, we went to Camp Robinson in Little Rock and ought ours off of their lot. We gave 800 dollars for it. It had been in Iraq. They had a D7 dozer that they wanted 3k for. Its amazing how big of a loss they take on those things. Better yet, they said that they had just shredded 500 of them that were in just as good of shape as the one we bought. Crazy right?

Yeah they are.

Safety and emissions standards aren't the forefront of a military vehicle, which is why you dont see many on the roads outside of parades.

Because some states have retarded rules about military vehicles (or former military vehicles). With that being said, there are some out there that really shouldn't be driven in traffic.
