Why is it so hard for most people to lose weight?

Assuming no medical issues.

I really don’t get the mystery. Are people so addicted to sugars, processed foods, and carbs they can’t break the cycle?

There needs to be carb “detox” centers. We are surrounded by addicts...

Because people are lazy, more comfortable with what they are used to, and also try to wholesale change their diet all at once instead of gradually phasing in healthier aspects to their diets.

Even if you’re a healthy person, switching over to a ketogenic diet can be really difficult for some because their body simply isn’t used to that kind of thing.

It’s not.

Most people are just lazy and have bad diets.

Food is good. Eating healthy is expensive. It’s not a hard concept Copernicus.

I'm convinced it's because people don't realize how much they are eating, especially in relation to carbs (I am not anti carbs, I eat 300 grams a day) I've been tracking my food for a year and I feel like it will be necessary for the rest of my life. When I am not tracking I highly underestimate my food intake.

Eating “healthy” is not as expensive as many people like to think. All some people need to do is count their calories.

Obviously upvoted your own post. Low carb diets are only expensive if you don’t want to try them in the first place.

And water is free.

Elaborate. What is “not expensive” to you is subjective. There is a direct correlation to less money = more weight. Why do college kids gain weight more times than not? It’s simple.

You might be the most pompous a-hole on the board today. That’s pretty hard to do.

I think saying that eating unhealthy is cheap is another relative term.

Fast food, frozen processed meals, etcetc are all cheap. And if you dont know how to cook and are poor, you will eat the previously mentioned things.

My problem is beer. I don't eat fast food or drink sugar drinks like coke. But I love drinking beer. I've cut way back over the past few weeks and plan to stop drinking beer all together. But its not easy.

No its not. Chicken and turkey are two of the cheapest cuts of meat you can buy and $1 of broccoli is a meal. You can eat 2 meals for $5 easily. shite, I eat salmon all the time, which is expensive as far as meat goes and an $18 slab makes 3-4 servings. Still less than McDonald's, but keep making excuses.

Because they drink a lot of alcohol, eat pizza at 2AM, and live on fast food.

Generally speaking, people lack the desire to be healthy, and those that have the desire are not disciplined enough or simply don’t care enough to make wholesale changes to their lifestyle.
