I find it hard to have sympathy for folks that don’t lock their car doors.

Seeing reports of guns

I know way too many people that leave firearms in their unlocked vehicles overnight.

C'mon, you gotta be smarter than that.

Seems like Central was trending upwards early to mid 2000’s.

it was... and it's still not bad per se. local politics and the flood have done a number on what they had going for them. schools are still good though so people will keep moving there.

I don’t lock my Jeep doors. I have a soft top. I locked my doors and some thug took a knife to my window THAT HAS A frickING ZIPPER.

I’d rather them just open my door to see there’s nothing inside than slice my window open and have to pay for a new top.

Jeeps are obviously a little different. If you have a normal vehicle and don't lock your door, I dont feel sorry for you.

Curious if you keep your gun on your or in your car?

English?

I keep them in various places, secured. But if I either accidentally or intentionally leave them in an unlocked portion of my house or car, that is not negligent. It's my property and I can protect it as I see fit. I'm not responsible for forfeiting rights because of some crackheads. How about we cut the hands off convicted theives? They can pay, not me.

A thin piece of glass isn't security anyway. If someone knows(they shouldn't) you keep a gun in your vehicle they will get it. Locked doors or not.

Central becoming a city will be a net loss when it's all said and done. Would be better off still the rural unincorporated area it always was. Sure the schools would still suck but oh well. Instead they will jam a bunch of people in the city limits along with shitty strip malls, build apartments and overload the schools. Then we end up with a bunch of half trashy yuppie assholes , crackhead thief assholes, idiots running the city, and sky high property taxes.

"Rural" central was shite, let's be honest. Shite schools and still in EBRP WAS a bad combination. As long as the school systems remains healthy central will be just fine. I do think they are outbuilding their population growth, but that market will correct.

Not it wasn’t better with the school system. They were busing in borderline criminals from the rest of EBR Parish. It’s now a better school by far.

Granted it’s gotten too busy, but you also have doctors offices, banks, etc being built.

As the other poster said, it’s growing too fast. And poor plannning with all eyes on making a buck.

That’s OK though the two central cops were just checking radar today on Sullivan Road instead of working . They are a joke here’s an idea how about you patrol at night in the neighborhoods.
To be quite honest with you I’m not even sure they work at night.

Yet you probably carry a gun in case you need to defend yourself from them

If you call in to report that your gun was stolen out your car you should be locked up for a week.

The current mayor is looking out for his best friends and real estate partners development opportunities. He is a big reason for the downturn.
