What's funny?

Please tell me you don't think attempting to improperly influence a presidential election is a crime.

The point is "interference" has been happening at the state level since the beginning. Nothing new happened this election.

So it's a process crime on the spy vs. spy level.

Interfere implies actually causing a tangible change in outcome or direction

A football player is flagged for interference when his actions tangibly affect whether the ball is caught or not.

A protestor interferes with traffic when he is in the road literally stopping cars

t's also clear, Russia did not have any material effect on our elections

Then why do we need to continue an investigation?

end it

Ryan is such a disappointment. He and the Republican old guard still believe if they play "ball" with the media that the media in turn will be fair with them.

You mean the state-level interference of which no one has objective evidence? See, the "new" thing here is the unanimous conclusion of the U.S. intelligence community that a foreign nation attempted to influence a U.S. presidential election.

That is illegal. There is evidence to support that it occurred. Indictments have been handed down.

But, hell with it. No harm, no foul, right?

I have family that works in counter-intelligence in the Army. I can't talk specifics but people would be shocked if they knew what was going on behind the scenes at the global level. It's been happening for longer than you think, and we have people on our side actively in cyber warfare defending against it.

There has still not been any evidence of anything Russia directly did to influence this election. Just a bunch of accusations and wasted meaningless indictments.

Where, exactly? And are you just going to ignore a state leader (Putin) saying $400 million was illegally funneled from Russia to the Clinton campaign, or is that your evidence?

Sorry, bro. I'm going to take the word of the unanimity of the intelligence community over your unnamed sources in army intelligence.

You understand, I'm sure.

And what word is that? Do you just believe shite when someone in high power (and hugely high stakes) says it? Even when those same people are shown as supremely biased and have said they were "going to stop Trump from being president at all costs"?

Cause yea, that's surely credible.

We do it all the time (spy1) they do it all the time (spy2) they weren't effective therefor you want to charge them with a process crime.

Russia is a menacing government that does not share our interests and it does not share our values and I think that should be made very, very clear.

How does that statement square with our actions on the Ukraine and Syria?

Because Trump didn't collude with Russia and because the Russian "interference" didn't actually do anything to sway the election, it's a non-story.

Yeah, like because you shoot at someone and miss, it's all fine, no problems, no crimes, lets just move on.
