Yes I use strava solely for the social/accountability piece. A lot of my college kids I coached were good when I first started running again about getting on me if I took off.
And I would definitely think you’d keep seeing some good improvements while you’re going. Wouldn’t be surprised if the 7:15 feeling produced 6:45’s-6:50’s next year.
Also just to make sure you know (I’m sure you do but given how close I was to the cutoff this year I’d rather be safe ) definitely make sure you’re training to give yourself a 6ish minute window if they don’t adjust down the BQs by then. I figured I was easily in after grandmas and ended up only giving myself like a minuteish cushion.
