Has anyone on here ever done a destination race?

I can really only do serious travel during the summer and am looking for a cooler climate marathon for next year. Open to either US or international.

First full week of running in about 30 days. Tried to transition to my zero drops too quick and got plantar fasciitis pretty bad in the left foot. Combination of stretches, heel raises, and walking in the new shoes have finally gotten me back. It is still a little twingey, but I’m getting there.

Did 7 miles this AM at a 160HR pace. With the heat and hills that puts me at 11 min miles. Getting ready for Mercedes this Feb. hope they run it this time.

9 miles this AM. Most for me in 30 days and this stupid plantar fasciitis. Still a little twingey. Stretching and calf raising every day of the week. Average HR 159 which translated into 10:40 min miles. Not Burt numbers by any means…..

Did a 14 mile run today as part of my marathon training.

Physically I did fine, but my biggest worry about the marathon popped up today. I just became really bored. I love running, but I need to find a way to keep in it mentally at the longer distances.

I have the Mercedes Half Marathon coming up in mid Feb. I need advice on a training plan. I run that distance routinely on my Sat runs, but I’d like to put in a decent time. My best 5K is 7:28/mile. Best 15K is 8:15/mile. I feel like I should be able to easily get to 8:00/mile on this. Would love to be sub 8 min.

No issues with training time. Currently running (4) days a week and cross training at least one day a week.

Ah yes, that feeling when you're early for a race and have a porta-potty to yourself with no line.

I have a nasty blister on my Achilles heel thanks to trying a new pair of shoes

Any advice on how to make it heal as quick as possible

Getting ready for Mercedes. 17 weeks away.

Covid really makes it difficult to sign up for an international race.

One I'm interested in requires vax (fine) and a negative test. Well shite, what if I get all the way out there vaxxed and pop positive? I guess I'm fricked. Why would I ever commit thousands of dollars to a race like that?

Ran my first half marathon today at just over 2 hours. Legs are screaming at me, especially after driving for 3 hours after the fact. What's the best way to help the muscle recovery?

Signed up for the Stockholm Marathon in June. Thanks to the fricked up rental car market, traveling to Sweden isn’t that much more expensive than a US trip.

Did a trail race today. At mile 20 or so there was a -15% grade descent for a mile. My poor fricking legs at that point lol

I had hip replacement surgery in May and slowly but surely working my way to running again. Today, I ran 6.2 miles (the longest I've ran in quite a while) at an average pace of 9:13 per mile. I know that's not as fast as some of you can run but I think it's pretty good for me at this moment! I'm really trying to get my pace to less than 9 which I've done once but want to do it on the regular! :)

Anyone here like marathons?

I finally did one, and after the halfway point it just became a miserable experience I don’t think it is the distance for me.
