I'm On-Board until there's a reason not to be. (Better not be the Miami game)

It's not just E and O though, it's "Shite or get off the Pot" for the entire staff (Except Aranda) and Joey Aramark as well.

No more patience.

The Buck stops here. It stops right now in the 2018 season...…...

Dude these guys have their pitch forks on deck waiting for any statistic they can find to call this offense a failure. If we beat Miami and look good on offense they'll say, remember BYU, everyone thought that was a good win. And on and on.

Not really the same. If we beat Miami and look good on offense doing so, then everyone will begin to get pretty excited. I would not compare it to BYU, because we knew BYU wasn't on the caliber of a Miami.. especially Miami's defense. We will be very excited.. (including those that slightly lean negative)

quote:

It'll always be, wait until he proves this week or next.

Well, we will need to see some consistency to truly give credit.. but as I stated.. we beat Miami and look good on offensive doing so.. then people will start to warm up.

quote:

They will never give any credit to O and anyone he's involved with hiring.

I would not say never. If he beats Alabama people will probably go overboard on the credit.. because I doubt anyone ever expects it. He has ways to earn more credit.. win 11 games games in any season.. Miles did it his first three seasons including a 12 win season with a national championship. He inherited a 4 loss team as well? Don't quote me on it. The standard and bar should be high.

quote:

O has to win and win big consistently for anything to change.

Well YEAH.. Considering we filed Miles for similar results towards the end.. and considering O doesn't get the benefit of other coaches with a more proven track record. He has to go out and earn it. Especially with the doubters.

quote:

Which is why he was hired but he wasn't hired to do it in a year.

That's excuses. Again, Miles won 11 games year 1, 11 games year 2, 12 games year 3.. He took over, I believe the same total losses of a team the season prior. If anything O really took over a team during his interim gig that would have won 10 games had it not been for a cancelled game at home due to weather. He had more of a head start than Miles by having an interim season. While it was his first full season last year, he's had close to 2 years.

This is truly the year to start judging what we see. It's his 3rd season as being in charge, but 2nd full season as HC without the interim. Sorry, but with players declaring every 3 years.. you don't exactly have all the time in the world to sit around and get it exactly as you want. The SEC should only get tougher, too.

quote:

Maybe initially people thought that he could do a better job but when I saw what this roster looked like depth wise, I knew then that it would be a tough road ahead.

Still have no business losing at home to Troy. Also, that ND team that beat us was pretty meh with a bunch of injuries I believe.

quote:

But there is no excuses. He's at a high level football school and no one else would be given special treatment so neither should he.

Absolutely agree.

quote:

We'll see soon what this staff can do as a team.

As soon as game one we will have a feel one way or another. I am sick of any other excuses. LSU, when elite, comes out the gate hot.

quote:

I know I'm excited to see it unfold and don't pay these flakes any mind.

More people will get excited as the season nears, whether everyone admits it or not.. and we will all be cheering for LSU to whip the Canes.

That's far too much logic this early in the morning.

I'll tell you what I didn't like about it. Etling. He sucked at QB and any of the current flock of QBs have more talent. I know Danny Etling tried as hard as he could, he's just not that good. I wish him well at New England and in the NFL, however, but I don't think it'll be a long stay. He'll be tossing footballs in Italy a couple of years from now.

I believe he will do a great job. The better he does the better OSU does!

Facts like Ensminger installed his own offense in 2016?

Pot, kettle, etc.

Wasn’t just fans or posters. Pretty much every BR media person agreed that loss eliminated him from the running.

Finebaum was the only one that kept up the BS “one of us” narrative, and Alleva sucked it down like the limp wristed old twat that he is.

And the second O was announced that fricking Bama homer flipped and started talking about what a risky move this was and how you would think a school like LSU could do better.

Hook line and sinker

Yes by choice. He wanted to be in La close to his family while being at his alma matter. Only reason he took this is because it’s at LSU and the HC and the student-athletes needed some comfort and stability, not a 3rd OC n 3 years. He can coach the qb position.. He knows offense.. and he had to top notch asst’s in Sullivan & Cregg that know offense. They have wked under great offensive minds and their knowledge is undeniable. The ? With them was recruiting and they have seemed to answer the bell. I have faith they will get it done as a group

I agree with this. I dont mean to bash Miles or Cameron. My point was in response to a deflecting poster.

Yeah no shitty players have ever been taken in the 7th round.

Surprise surprise. A TR poster thinks he knows more than NFL scouts.

If a college player is "just not that good" - he doesn't get drafted. Doesn't matter what round.

Etling is not the next Dan Marino but some guy named Bellichik thought enough of him to draft him. Maybe it wasn't his talent level...maybe it was something else???

What's more likely?

- NFL scouts know what they're looking for and have an eye what will succeed in the NFL

- Random TR poster out-smarts Bill Belichick

With the Burrow addition, I feel confident in E's ability to scheme for a decent game plan. Don't think he's much of a QB whisperer and really doubted his ability to develop raw talent. Burrow puts that big question mark on the back burner (for now).

Im slightly more optimistic about this season.
