I’m definitely hoping he does well. I support him. I think he’s learned from mistakes.

I mean I pull for LSU, so hopefully every coach does their job. No need for a wagon for coaches.

This has got to be a shitty troll. How in the actual frick do you think that Steve isn't qualified?

Again, shitty troll is shitty.

I just want to know why no other program has come after him to be their OC? That's usually a pretty solid indicator of a coach and his value but we shall see.

Why didn’t he contribute when the offense was sucking under miles since he was out learning nuances of all offenses?

I believe that Moscona said one time that from what he gathered, Ensminger wasn't asked to contribute or that his suggestions weren't taken very well.

Sounds an awful like when people say not to look at a recruit's ranking and look at their offer list.

e absolutely was not qualified for the LSU OC job

This is the dumbest shite I've seen posted today. At first I thought it was a shitty troll but it keeps getting repeated. So I can come to no other conclusion but the people repeating this are fricking retarded.

You literally just made this up, didn't you? Or you heard it too many times on here. How in the world do you know this?

You don't know EVERYTHING!.

How do you know he hasn't turned down interviews? How do you know he hasn't been content and waiting for his opportunity at LSU because that's just where his heart lies?

OMG this is the guy

His 2016 performance didnt make me think he was a Godsend either. He simply did good.

but his style of offense, with all the talent we have could be a recipe for success. He may totally flop, I dont know.

Will he put us over the hump? I have my reservations also.

Steve and I both were in the 1976 class at Central. I pulled for him when he was at LSU and I pull for him now.
I believe that he is very qualified for his role

I was just kidding around. I'm pulling for him too. Class of 1996 here.

My issue is that we really didn’t get a chance to evaluate his passing game in 2016.

We threw well only when we ran well.

Now you can blame Danny Etling and I wouldn’t pick him either to be
The QB people judge my offense by, but it’s kinda a huge ? Since we haven’t seen hisnoffense throw really since the 90s.

I’ll do you one better.

I would take him as HC over O right now. He should have been the interim HC to begin with.

The guy is legit one of us, seems as humble and hard working as they come, and was an offensive guy to replace the guy that, you know, couldn’t get the offense on track.

Alleva should have known good and well that O was never going to remain at LSU after the interim gig unless it was as HC. That was made blatantly clear at USC when he left the team before the bowl in a hissy fit after not getting the HC job there and decided he’d rather quit coaching than stay on staff there.

If the DL was SOOOOOOOOOO depleted as his supporters/apologists claim, keeping O on staff to address that deficiency for the next HC should have been a priority.

The bottom line is O didn’t do anything in 2016 to rejuvenate the team. The entire fan base and team was just happy to have the cloud of uncertainty hanging over Miles’ head (that Alleva placed there) gone. He also just happened to step right in as we faced five of the worst run defenses in the country. How Johnny on the spot

Had E, a beloved former Tiger led us onto the field against Missouri I can guarantee that the stadium would have been at least as electric.

O could have been tasked with keeping the recruiting class this together as well while E did the public speaking and offense while Aranda handled the defense.

I’d argue that could have actually led to better results. LF, Etling, Dupree, all of those guys had very little relationship with O, who as a DL coach on campus for 18 months just didn’t interact with him much. Those were the guys we needed to be motivated and inspired, and they would have felt more of a connection had they been playing for E imo.

And had we not made the championship run Alleva claimed was the reason for the mid season move (as if O was the guy to make a championship run ), E would have happily handed the reins over and stayed on staff as an asset for the new HC instead publicly campaigning for the job like O did putting the AD in another media firestorm.

I’m an E fan, 100%. I think he’s going to do a good job, although admittedly I wouldn’t be as confident if a Meyer QB hadn’t fallen into our laps.

But given the talent on the roster, I see no reason he can’t get this passing game going including using our great group of TEs that he is so familiar with.

Looking forward to great things against Miami, because I’d hate to see O throw a true Tiger under the bus like I know he will if the offense struggles early.

There were reports in like 2015 or 16 of offensive coaches wanting to spread the ball out I think... being vocal about wanting change or at least disagreeing with the offensive direction amongst other coaches.. I wonder if E was one of them.

Yeah I'm starting to hate this too. Cam Cameron's offenses broke records while cam was still coaching it. He did it in 13 and 15.

Sounds like a plausible theory to me. It's just like everything else that goes on those meeting rooms, we can't know for sure what's happening.

what the hell does that have to do with anything? I don't care where a guy is from, just get me the best coach we can find.

Hell, Nick Saban grew up in West Virginia, went to college in Ohio, and was a head coach at Toledo and Michigan State before coming down to LSU.

You think Bama fans cared one iota that Saban isn't "one of us" when they hired him?

Good god.

Oh it’s a bullshite reason to hire someone, no doubt. Im just saying that that dumbass narrative was used to promote O and HE ISNT EVEN AN LSU GUY.

If that was going to be taken into account, E should have gotten the nod as interim instead of O.

Similar to the admin turning to Stovall after Rein died.

I see a lot of similarities with Stovall and E actually. Stovall wasn’t the long term answer but he was a great choice under terrible circumstance in 80.

E could have been a similar short term answer in 16.
