One of history's most brilliant economists. Wish he was around today. He's sorely needed now with the increasing popularity of socialist ideals in American society.

He could not win the Nobel Prize in today's world.

It is a shame we don’t have more voices like Milton Friedman today. He was right about so much. One of the greatest Americans ever and most Americans have never heard of him!

The reason why socialism is gaining popularity is that capitalism is not working well enough for enough people. It's an easy problem to solve but you capitalists won't do it because a few of you are doing so well you're too greedy to fix it.
If Milton was alive he'd be smart enough to realize that.

“Capitalism isn’t making everyone comfortable enough, so we want socialism so no one is comfortable”

Are you fricking retarded? Look at Venezuela and tell me how well socialism works for everyone.

It’s being fixed, give it about 6 1/2 more years

“Well first of all, tell me: Is there some society you know that doesn’t run on greed? You think Russia doesn’t run on greed? You think China doesn’t run on greed? What is greed? Of course, none of us are greedy, it’s only the other fellow who’s greedy. The world runs on individuals pursuing their separate interests. The great achievements of civilization have not come from government bureaus. Einstein didn’t construct his theory under order from a bureaucrat. Henry Ford didn’t revolutionize the automobile industry that way. In the only cases in which the masses have escaped from the kind of grinding poverty you’re talking about, the only cases in recorded history, are where they have had capitalism and largely free trade. If you want to know where the masses are worse off, worst off, it’s exactly in the kinds of societies that depart from that. So that the record of history is absolutely crystal clear, that there is no alternative way so far discovered of improving the lot of the ordinary people that can hold a candle to the productive activities that are unleashed by the free-enterprise system.”

No, the reason why socialism is gaining popularity is because people like Bernie Sanders have made unrealistic promises of free shite without any explanation of how said free shite gets paid for; and because financial and economic education has not been prioritized by the last 2 generations, people believe that there's a way to make socialism work.
Why am I even explaining this to you? Just shut the frick up Ralph, nobody cares.

How are people not doing well? How would socialism fix this?

The reason socialism is gaining popularity is because of an entitled generation who are too dumb to realize that capitalism has given them the best country in human history to live in but they're willing to squander it because they dont understand the difference between poverty and relative poverty.
If/when they crash the system with socialistic policies they'll learn the difference the hard way. Making everyone equally dirt poor and starving is one way to achieve their goal (wealth eqality).

bullshite. It’s that people believe that their happiness is someone else’s responsibility.

Not only do they not understand the difference, they don’t understand either concept individually.

Nonvalid statement. Like dividing by zero. No response is needed or possible.
