Spivey’s tape Doesn’t lie, the kid has a lot of wiggle and speed, not unlike Emery imho. Cain has more of a one- cut and go and he’s a real chain- mover but not necessarily a big home run threat. I’d be happy with any and all of them and they are all too good to pass on. First in gets the gig as far as I’m concerned. All are scholarship worthy imho.

Way to defend your stance, but seeing your avi pic tells me all I need to know.

So I guess all those coaches that offered Cain and not Spivey aren't thinking for themselves as well. Stupid them amiright?

Foster Moreau is the best TE on LSU's roster by far & he was a 3 star all the way...meanwhile Jacory Washington was a high 4 star by every recruiting service & hasn't seen any meaningful snaps heading into his senior season at LSU. He was also in the under armour AA game

Using which TE gets more snaps on an LSU team to determine if the recruiting rating system usually works is laughable. What it probably means for a tight end is that he blocks better. Maybe that will change but it hasn't thus far.

TE’s split out wide in Slinger’s offense

Hopefully, but that hasn't been the offense up to now

Not getting Emery is fine as long as we get Cain. Losing both would be an inexcusable disaster by the staff. If we get Tyrion and Noah in this class we’ll be great.

Cain looks like a complete back, an SEC back. Blocks well, one cut and go. Not a loss here.

If you can think for yourself and not rely on the opinions of the recruiting "experts", one's clearly better than the other.

In short: One is slow as molasses and has gotten worse since his freshmen year. And the other is significantly faster and hasn't even touch his potential yet - and he's better than Cain right now.

Amontae Spivey
Height & Weight: 6'1" 185lbs
40 Yard Dash: 4.64
Shuttle: 4.58
Vertical: 29
Bench: 245
Squat(LBS): 335

Noah Cain
Height & Weight: 5'11" 215lbs
40 Yard Dash: 4.41
Shuttle: 4.15
Vertical: 32
Powerball: 43
Bench: 315
185 Bench (Reps): 21
100 Meter Dash: 10.85
400 Meter Dash: 51.8
Squat(LBS): 505
Deadlift(LBS): 550
Clean(LBS): 265

During the 2017 season IMGA defeated 4 State Champions;against this circle of champions, no one was better than Cain. The 3X All USA RB led all Ascenders in yards from scrimmage, rushing and rush TDS

Well according to HUDL Cain has a better 40 and shuttle. So maybe you should stop thinking for yourself.

I think Wiltfong is basing this more off of Emery trending away from LSU as opposed to anything changing with Cain.

If Cain really wanted to commit right now you bet O would take him.

Because Surtain was the best cb prospect since PP7?

Well this guy wasn't. Matter of fact he was 37th according to this guy and 20th rated CB according to 247.

quote:

The 37th Ranked CB from the 2016 Class...proves stars are just a Guess. Less than 3 years removed from HS, he is the #1 DB on College Football Watch Boards for the upcoming #NFL Draft

he 37th Ranked CB from the 2016

So where is the #1 ranked CB or the 19 or 36 other CB's ranked ahead of the guy who may be the first defensive back taken in the NFL draft?

To say one CB is better than another based on paid recruiting site information before either steps on a college field is like saying Lavonta Taylor is head and shoulders better than Greedy because he was the #1 CB in the nation the year Greedy was the 20th.

How about an article from one of the paid recruiting sites about LSU's lowest rated recruits the past 10 years? I can't believe there are people on this recruiting board that don't know to take recruiting rankings with a grain of salt.

This is an article done by the 24/7 guy (Shea Dixon) who runs the LSU page/site or whatever it is called.

This is just the LOWEST rated recruit for each class the last 10 years excluding JUCOs and special teams players - kickers, long snappers, punters.

quote:

2008: Lavar Edwards No. 959 overall prospect, No. 32 in Louisiana
He was a fifth round pick in the NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans

2009: Josh Williford No. 1,066 overall prospect, No. 34 in Alabama
Injuries forced him to call off his football career. He served out his final year on campus as a student coach for the Tigers in 2013.

2010: Alfred Blue No. 66 RB, No. 758 overall prospect, No. 19 in Louisiana
a sixth round NFL Draft selection by the Houston Texans, where he was on roster from 2014-17.

2011: Ronald Martin No. 43 CB, No. 624 overall prospect, No. 24 in Louisiana
signed by the Seattle Seahawks as an unrestricted free agent following the 2015 NFL Draft. He’s since spent time in the NFL with the Seahawks, the New York Jets, the Baltimore Ravens and two stints with the Indianapolis Colts.

2012: Kavahra Holmes No. 86 WR, No. 763 overall prospect, No. 30 in Louisiana
announced he was transferring out of LSU

* A side note, the second-lowest ranked recruit in LSU’s class that year was Jalen Mills, who went on to start immediately as a true freshman at LSU and was a starter in the secondary for the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles this past year.

2013: Duke Riley No. 42 OLB, No. 539 overall prospect, No. 22 in Louisiana
he went on to be selected in the third round of the NFL Draft with the No. 75 overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons.

2014: Russell Gage No. 74 ATH, No. 898 overall prospect, No. 32 in Louisiana
LSU’s Pro Day in April catapulted him up NFL Draft boards, with many mock drafts pointing to Gage as a late-round steal for an NFL team.

2015: Foster Moreau No. 74 TE, No. 1,984 overall prospect, No. 86 in Louisiana
a multi-year starter at tight end who is now one of the team’s veteran leaders - and certainly a name in the mix to take over the No. 18 jersey. Moreau’s slated to start at tight end again for LSU this fall.

2016: Lloyd Cushenberry No. 82 OG, No. 1,522 overall prospect, No. 71 in Louisiana
Fast forward two years and Cushenberry is now the heir apparent to Ethan Pocic and Will Clapp as the team’s next starting center, a position he took the first-team reps at this spring.

2017: Justin Jefferson No. 308 WR, No. 2,164 overall prospect, No. 76 in Louisiana
It appears Jefferson will be a starter for the Tigers during his sophomore season next fall.

And none of these players were ranked in the top 20 at their positions. Even the five that have ALREADY played in the NFL. If Gage gets drafted (HE DID) that will be six of the 10 lowest rated recruits to play in the NFL. With Moreau, Cushenberry and Jefferson still playing at LSU.

Kardell Thomas was adamant on the radio a couple weeks ago that Noah Cain would be LSU's next commit.

Greedy was a top 200 recruit by 247 and the 219 ranked recruit composite. Where was he ranked the #36 corner? And a couple guys ranked ahead of him are still going to be high draft picks and one (Fulton) might be just as talented as all of them. You are also forgetting Williams redshirted due to size his freshman year, you don’t think his frame played a part in him not being ranked higher?

Speaking of the NFL draft, go look at how many top 100 recruits are projected to be in the first round. I sure see a lot of former 5 stars in the mocks

Cain isn’t committing until December. So until that changes I doubt he will be LSU’s next commit. Kardell also said Tua’s brother was coming to LSU and that ish ain’t happening.

From what I gather Cain wants to see how the offense looks. He has always been high on LSU.

Like I said...I don’t think anything has really changed with him lately.

I’d be more than happy with Davis and Cain.

Agreed completely. First time I watched them. Cain is severely overrated, IMO. IMG gets a lot of hype, but highlight to highlight its clear as day, Spiveys is better.

I also think Goodrich will be a better CB than Surtain when its all said and done, or at least as good, FWIW.

You do realize IMG plays several elite schools every year... of course spiveys highlight reel is better. Does anyone even know what kind of competition he plays?

Spivey is not a better college RB prospect than Cain.

True. Look at Chris "all I do is score big TDs" Curry. He's going to be good, but the level of competition isn't great.
