There is another Manning in 8th grade at Newman now. He seems to pretty good.
Are you talking about Cooper’s kid? Didn’t he say his favorite college team was LSU at the end of “The Book Of Manning?”
I was actually thinking about that the other day...

Your step uncle is as wise as this old geezer.

It probably doesn’t change. We win one in 2003 and that’s it

I do think Archie hates LSU but I think he is a man of character and would let his kids or grandkids do what they want. Peyton is a football historian and would be a negative influence on LSU but Cooper and Eli probably wouldn’t care.

How many title have the Manning brothers won, while going to Ole Miss and Tennessee????????
Eli was historically successful at Ole Miss.

frick the Mannings
Although I do confess to throwing oranges at Archie and yelling "Go to hell Ole Miss", I never had anything personal against him, and could almost forgive him for his choice of colleges, based on enjoying his play for the Saints, at times.
LSU didn't play against Payton but -what, once? - not enough to notice him that much in college, BUT as soon as he was pro, and doing lots of interviews and commercials and talk shows....dunno what it is... his voice, his face, attitude, mannerisms, whatever... I can't stand him. He is "fingernails on the chalkboard" to me.
So then, between playing for Ole Miss, and reminding me of his brother, Eli didn't stand a chance - I don't like him.
tl,dr version: have an upvote.

How many titles did the Manning brothers have after leaving home?

If CLM would have been the coach... none. He would have played Jefferson! LoL
Outside of Mett, LSU has been dismal in developing qb's during the CLM era.

"Stayed home?"
They were Ole Miss people. They were only in New Orleans because Archie played for the Saints. Eli did "stay home."
And, even if "Stayed home" meant something else for the Mannings, it would have been Tulane.
Terrible thread is terrible.

Considering neither manning won anything

Peyton won a SEC championship and beat Bama 3 year in a row when Tennessee hadn’t beat them 9 years prior. I think you could relate since it hasn’t been that long for LSU and it feels like a lifetime. Eli won a share of the West, the first and only time in the history of Ole Miss. I’m sure their 2 Super Bowl rings and MVP trophies help them sleep at night.

If Peyton was here in the 90s... maybe we would have had a shot in 97. With that backfield it wouldn't have all been on him. Only thing that makes me skeptical is Tennessee was a much more talented team than LSU at the time and he still couldn't win one.
Eli would have been here with Saban and Jimbo Fisher, so it's possible he could have developed quickly and started right away or at least split time with Rohan. I would probably say we still win the one in 2003.
So hypothetically one for each which isn't too bad.

We still would have won in 2003 so that's one. We were hitting our stride in 2002 before Mauck went down to injury. If we had Eli that whole year - maybe. But who knows what we would have done that year with Mauck?
As for 2001, I'm not sure Eli would have beaten out a SR Rohan Davey.
If Eli had come, we would have had a SR Matt Mauck as QB in 2004 (i.e. Mauck would not have gone pro after his JR year). We would have done better, possibly making it to the SEC championship game. Who knows? Maybe we would have been in position.
As for Peyton, maybe 1997. 1995 and 1996 were too close to the Hallman years. No way the team would have had the discipline and will to win a championship.

Lsu did have a guy named Curly Hallman as HC when Peyton chose Tennessee, so it wouldn't matter

From 1992-97 they won a national championship, SEC title, and won the west and played in the SEC championship game 4 times. You call that nothing?

Maybe, he’s still a two time super bowl MVP.
