I know this isn't a thread about keto but whatever... I'm planning to give keto a real run in a couple of weeks. I want to get a full blood workup first, and track my ketone levels throughout the month. I know the most accurate ketone monitoring method is by blood test strips, but I'd really prefer not to prick my finger several times a day.. would a breath monitor be accurate enough to at least give me some relative idea of what is affecting ketosis and by how much? And if so, do you have any recommendations?

I had to do it for about a month. Wasnt bad at all. Takes two seconds, doesn't hurt, and it doesn't leave any scab or anything after. If you want to do it right I'd just go ahead and do it

Do the blood tests, the BG pricks can't be any more than those and to be honest, it isn't that bad. I guess do it as a baseline, and find what foods lower you ketones, but deep ketosis should never be a goal, just a response to monitor.

Order Berberine, or better, Metformin, and start taking every 12 hours. Get the Keto sticks and when it turns the slightest bit purple, you are in ketosis and will stay there unless you frick up. If the sticks are slight purple and you are training your arse off, the stick may only remain slightly purple. Have fun and watch the rebound and KetoDick. (DO NOT CONTINUE TAKING METFORMIN OR BERBERINE once Ketosis is acheived)
