Grand Isle Fishing Reports?

Heading down 7/6-7/12.
Anyone been around the island lately?
I have a small boat so I can't travel too far.
I usually just fart around on the north side if the weather isn't too bad... or I surf fish.
I heard they were catching a few around Elmer's this week but not sure what the wind and weather will do while I'm there.
Any help would be appreciated.

I always hit the jetties. Usually can get some nice reds...more so in a few months though, never tried the jetties this time of year.

Usually by the time there’s news about the trout biting good in G.I, the bite has already passed, lol. Only way to know is to go. Watch weather reports and tide tables.

Neighbors did well on the beach. I drowned a few croakers in the pass with no success.
Fyi, bridgeside has run out if shrimp the last two days. Get there early.

They were catching them at Elmers, but they were swimming out to the 2nd trough, far enough for me to think they had lost their everloving mind.
I did good on the beach on the Isle following the birds. Also caught a few on the Elmers Island Road at the big curve. Live bait, slow retrieve. Had to fight through some trash(small cats, rat reds, etc.) but caught a couple few.
Saw a fella working a pink and silver top bait with success, I tried the same and wasted my time.
