Thx for the correction about who screwed the pooch with FTP.
I thought someone at the card company told him of the marked cards. Obviously if the casinos won their suits, it's a moot point.

not only did they win, one (the US one iirc) is asking the court not only order Ivey to return all his profits, but he also has to pay him all the lost profits the casino didn't realize because of the cheating

the chipleader right now Barry Hutter, was a total hustler in college.
He and a friend came to a poker game I was at and they were signaling/ chip placing and cheating the game with stuff straight out of Rounders.
He's had some success as some WPT final tables and a bracelet and finished 2nd in an event this year.

Ivey just busted
quote:
Phil Ivey opened to 22,000 from middle position and Brian Altman three-bet to 75,000 in the hijack. The action folded back to Ivey who made the call to see a flop of {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{2-Spades}.
Ivey check-called a bet of 60,000 from Altman and the {8-Spades} landed on the turn. Both players checked to the {3-Diamonds} on the river and Ivey checked one more time. Altman stuck in a bet of 195,000 and Ivey check-raised all in for 629,000. Altman thought for over a minute and then made the call.
"Good call," Ivey said. Altman turned over {q-Spades}{j-Clubs} and Ivey was unable to beat it. Ivey held {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} and shipped the rest of his chips to Altman in the last hand before the dinner break.

yeesh
blocker bluff CR on the river after checking the turn?
*ETA: also a huge overbet (after checking the turn)
3 betting QJo is bad unless it was a steal attempt by the BB, which can't work b/c he was in position
that hand is so....weird

Both hands played badly. Why blow all of your money like that makes no sense

Terrible play by Ivey holding middle pair and he shoves for his whole stack. An amateur makes that move and its the stupidest play on earth. But Ivey likes to bluff and put people to the test and it backfired. With him having that many chips no way he should of made that play.

Where y’all getting updates from ?
I bet Chino makes a deep run again. Like Ivey though, he can blow it all on one hand.

If he wins the main, there will be a long line of creditors at the Rio.

it was a blocker shove (esp with the 9s)
also QJo capped his range on the turn by checking back. he can't have a flush and he's one pair heavy
ivey blocks the straight and he knows villain can' have a straight (or flush....i guess?)
however, Ivey's story makes no sense checking the turn and river. he could lead turn and rep the straight/flush and shove river and put villain to test or lead river and represent a trap. over-shoving river with a CR is suicide. he's saying nut flush or nothing (and that would have shown up on the flop almost assuredly but no later than the turn). he's completely polarized but really is bluff heavy

Anyone else having trouble with PSVUE recording of WSOP? I’ve been watching a day late each day but today it is saying none of the WSOP is available in my DVR.

Not a good way to go out with middle pair. If you going to go bust at least have a better hand than that. I just dont agree with a blocker shove. The guy can have top pair, two pair, pair of jacks, all that beats Ivey and he went all in with 9s. Pros would crucify that move by an amateur yet a pro made that move for all his chips.

Known to borrow money and not pay back. When I say “money”, I meat lots. When I say pay back, I mean lots of people.
