Chelsea- Hazard, Cahill, cortois
Spurs- Kane, Alli, Rose and Trippier

Really thought after the second half of last season he’d be staying especially considering we have basically no winger depth

I’m assuming we get Shaqiri plus Ox can play there as well as some of our midfielders but that’s not really idea. Thought this was a perfect chance to get him more game time

And I’d also be a little disappointed if he wasn’t sent to a premier league team. I know that might be harder to get guaranteed game time and sure it’d be nice to see him put up another consistent performance in the Championship but I think he could be ready for the jump

I guess it all comes down to how much Klopp sees him actually playing... It's better to go on loan and play, then be primarily an unused/unnamed sub for a season..

I agree. Assuming all our MF and forwards are healthy and we're down 2-1 to the bitters, who would be the first guy off the bench to provide a spark (based on the current squad, not speculative transfers)?

That person last season would have been Lallana or Sturridge, but they couldn't stay healthy. I think of the current squad, Harry Wilson fits the bill. Now if we bring in Shaqiri, Fekir or Dybala ( ) that changes. A fit Ox, Sturridge and Brewster changes that as well, but give the kid a shot! He literally couldn't have done anything more last season while on loan, and he scored a brace in the first preseason game. LET THE KID PLAY!!

Sooooooooooo we've surrendered 2 goals to Tranmere in 36 minutes of the 2nd half with Karius in goal.

Anyone watching? Has Karius got bed bugs in his head or is he being left hanging out to dry?

first goal Karius should have handled, but knocked it down right to a defender for an easy finish...

second was a terrible back pass between defenders, that left the Tranmere player through on goal vs Karius...

Pearce is saying Shaqiri is set to be our next signing... £13mm... I think thats good business and hopefully allows us to go after bigger signings in need positions...

Also.. though I believe Karius is and can be a solid keeper... I think Im on board with replacing him this summer... I dont think he'll ever be able to get past the UCL final in many of the supporters eyes and that will probably impact his performances.. Not to mention how heavily scrutinized every little mistake will be made of in the media..

The amount of shite just from yesterdays match... preseason... where you're suppose to knock the rust off.. is just insane..

I think even if its not one of the bigger fish at keeper and a somewhat risk... it may be the way to go..

Keep seeing rumors about a Gini exit. Really hoping these aren’t true. While he can disappear for matches, I think he’s valuable to the squad.

Love Gini and i thought he was an unsung hero from last season, but who else from the mid would you get rid of from last season? Lallana is the only one that comes to mind but he can also play in the attacking front three so thats why we'd keep him. sucks to lose him but if were replacing him with keita and Fabinho i can handle the loss.

haha well thats never going to happen. Henderson loves the club and we'd have to force him out which i don't think is going to happen. i agree he's probably the weakest out of the group left but his effort out there clearly goes a long way in Klopps eyes.

This is exactly how I feel as well, I want him to get another shot for an at least decent club but it would be best for both parties involved that it isn’t Liverpool. At least an extended loan spell somewhere else if he were to get another chance at LFC.

As far as selling Gini goes, I’d prefer to keep him but the MF is already really crowded without any further acquisitions. I guess it would be best to sell him out of any of the sellable guys since he would fetch the highest price out of them.

Lallana... aging and recent issues with injuries... we may still be able to get a decent sale price, given he's English..

Gini is fitter, younger and more versatile...

I'd rank our MF like this:

Keita
Fabinho
Henderson
Ox
Gini
Milner
Lallana
Grujic

Ox is out until Christmas, we're obviously keeping Milner and Henderson. I like Gini, and I think he does everything well except for scoring goals. To me, Lallana is one that needs to be sold and Grujic loaned again. IF we land Fekir, he can not only play as one of our forward 2 MFs, he can also play on either wing. If we sign him, then I might see Gini going.

Assuming our starting lineup is:
Please not Karius
TAA-Lovren-Virgil-Robbo
Keita-Hendo-Fabinho
Salah-Firmino-Mane

Our bench would be: Fekir, Shaqiri, Gini, Moreno, Gomez, Sturridge, Karius.

Assuming we sell Origi, Lallana, Ings, and Mignolet, and loan Woodburn, Solanke, Wilson, and Grujic .

We'd have these not making the bench: Clyne, Milner, Matip, Klavan, Brewster, and OX (injured).

That's some serious depth, and likely some bruised egos at not making the bench/starting. Obviously injuries will tell the tale, but it sure is nice having OPTIONS and QUALITY on the bench.

I can’t get out of my mind how thin we were in the midfield at the end of last season. Gini is also versatile and believe he filled in at centerback at least once, if not twice. He’s also played out wide before in attack. Lallana is the one to go if I’m choosing.

I would absolutely keep Gini over Lallana. Better fitness and more versatility.
