I sure never heard that on the radio. And I understand why it's never requested. It's terrible, worse even than "Leader Of The Pack".

That's what I love about this board. One of the greatest records ever made, and "It's terrible, worse even than 'Leader Of The Pack'"

When I think of all the shite that's so loved here, all the Rush, Widespread Phish, and all the many metal monstorities... There is more soul, more emotion in this one single track than in all those other collected oeuvres combined.

Listen to the bridge, where we hear the comforting, reassuring loving mother's lullaby, suddenly broken by Mary Weiss' desperate cry "Mama!!!" (I'm willing to bet this transcendent moment was an influence on John Lennon's Oedipal screams in "Mother" on Plastic Ono Band), followed by the disturbing, Bernard Herrmannesque strings, all brilliantly evoking the singer's emotional turmoil.

I can never go home anymore...
