I don’t think either will stop and help the other, if there is a big attack they will sky train it until Bernal is done and then go alone.

In their press conference today I’m sure Thomas said Sky losing the jersey would be disastrous so if one of them cracks why risk the others position?

As for a late night raid, I truly believe Thomas is legit, i have had doubts about Froome but Thomas has always been a special talent. Even doing back to his hearty track days his VO2 max has always been discussed as legendary. It’s his first time he looks like completing a GT since he fully focused and has been top 5 before cracking(when not attempting a GC placing) and I’m sure that the day before that was when Barguil ran him off the road on a descent

Right, which is why I was saying the other day that unless a guy like Dumoulin attacks and has the legs for it and only Froome keeps up with him, I don't know how else Froome is going to take the yellow. He kind of needs one of the other "contenders" to step up and drop GT in the process.

That was scary to watch. These guys are, perhaps, the toughest athletes in the world. How many riders in the last 2 weeks have gotten back on their bikes to finish a stage with broken or fractured bones, sprains, busted faces, deep lacerations, etc. Nothing but utmost respect for every single one of these guys. Thousands of miles up and down some of the steepest mountains and landscapes with 2 days of rest in 3 weeks. Just amazing.

Yates was about 15 seconds up and crashed coming around a corner. Now about 10 seconds back to Alaphilippe.

The crash was bad for Gilbert but the way he landed I thought he'd be OK and was more shocked that the bike wasn't ruined. But then later realized he got scuffed up pretty good.

I'm still trying to figure out what the protest was about. Armstrong mentioned that in France you don't mess with the CRS, their equivalent of SWAT. I hope they brought CRS out there and fricked up all of those morons.

Alaphalippe was awesome today.

The sun never shines on Adam Yates. I think he would have lost over the descent even without crashing, but man is he snakebit.

I think GT wins the whole shebang tomorrow.

Probably the same issue they had this spring about cutting some of the areas that qualify for EU farm subsidies.

seeing them descend down these mountains at these speeds of 40-50 mph+ scares the bejesus out of me

ETA: and the 2 crashes in this stage are exactly why... esp. Yates just having his wheels slide out from under him b/c of wet roads

hmmm... a grid start tomorrow?

but I wish I could watch tomorrow's stage live... 40 miles of hell and it should be the big day that potentially decides this year's TdF

Grid start is just a stupid gimmick, by the time the neutral zone is done it will be a sky train at the front and everything as normal
