Explain to me Derek Ponamsky’s resumè

I never followed this guy much. Heard him on the radio from time to time. Today I noticed how quick he replied to a comment on Orgeron’s Twitter post, to a follower. It got me thinking...
What is his background in football?
What are his roles as a special assistant to Ed Orgeron?
Does he get the red bulls, lunch, print the copies, post on social media?
I’m just confused as to what speciality he brings to a college football team or why exactly did Orgeron hire him.

He’s a convicted felon that should have nothing to do with the football program. He slobs Os knob so O put him on his staff. It fits though ponamsky and O have both been arrested.

I thought LSU had a policy of not hiring convicted felons, but I guess that's not true if the head football coach wants a convicted felon on his staff.
Felony conviction aside, DP is a joke and belongs nowhere near the football program.

About the only skill he brings to the table is the fact that he studies recruiting very very well.
He himself is not a recruiter per se but he knows south Louisiana like the back of his hand.

Agree with above post. His only valid experience is that he has a history in high school recruiting / insider. He and Cullotta started the “O spin / campaign” for about a year before O was hired as DL coach. He was on 104.5 every Tuesday am while O was out of a coaching job.
