I know that fishing licenses expire on 6/30 every year. We are getting to Toledo on 6/30. Can a fishing license be purchased now that doesn't expire on the 30th of this year? Or will we have to wait to purchase new licenses on 7/1?

Any license purchased after 6/1 is good till 6/30 the next year.

Any chance LA ever changes that and goes to 1yr from purchase date? Always thought that was weird.

It might seem weird, but it's actually fairly common throughout the US. I travel for work and often bring a travel rod. As such, I buy licenses all over the country and from what I've seen the 1yr from date of purchase licenses are the exception, not the norm.

There's pros and cons to each. I'm always paranoid my MS license is expired, and I'm actually waiting until june 30th to get a new one so it will be the same as LA and I can just do both at the same time from now on.

How else are you going to drum up revenue on the following 4th of July weekend when a bunch of them have expired?

I'm going to be negative about any LA fishing license discussion, based on the cost for NR - single day and "yearly" for us.

In before MS NR hunting license

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they prorate it? if you buy one in May it is cheaper....because it will only last into the next month?
